    They succeeded everywhere else.

Silly people hire incompetent people and then act confused when they are incompetent. Can’t help you with that one. Time eventually will though.

Would you like to compare death and infection rates vs other first world nations?

    We can

More like America First over America. America is still part of the world, indeed we were the world LEADER until 2016

Thanks... that comparison hit me sometime last week, when I realized the GOP was seriously about to eat one of their own.. and the Donner's are referred to as a Party, so...........

I'm really debating if I'm going to click that link.... I'm pretty sure I'm not going to... some links speak for themselves...

They aren't kicking her out of the party but because of her key disagreements with the overwhelming majority of the members of the Republican caucus and the Republicans in general she can no longer serve in a leadership role. I can well imagine if any Democrat in a leadership position had voted against impeaching Trump they would no longer be holding that position don't ya think? Look at how they have treated Tulsi Gabbard, she is now persona non grata.

I am sure many want America to be an empire but America should be for Americans first. We don't need to interfere in every squabble overseas, which, BTW, we do which often causes other problems. As one of our founders stated, trade with everyone ally with no one. Once you choose an ally you instantly choose an enemy.

It would probably depend on how vocal they were about it afterwards. Cheney isn't backing down on Trump's Big Lie, so Trump and the spineless House Republicans are trying to cancel her over it. At least Cheney is in the right, and she is poised to come back strong once trumpism finally runs its awful course and the GQP returns to being the GOP.

A good bit of reading to consider:

Life after leadership: Liz Cheney plots her long game against Donald Trump

    ...

The Wyoming congresswoman fully expects to lose her position as the No. 3 Republican in the House when her conference votes on Wednesday, according to a source familiar with her thinking.

But Cheney is also planning to take advantage of her expected removal as a way to further her fight against Donald Trump's grip over the GOP and continue hammering the message that got her in trouble in the first place: that Trump's lies about the 2020 election are damaging for her party and the country.

Four months after the January 6 insurrection, Cheney has told friends she "does not believe Trump will just fade away" and that she's planning to wage a protracted political war -- through public statements and in the media -- against the former President. The way Cheney sees it, according to sources, Wednesday's vote is a chance to put her GOP colleagues on the record: They are either voting for truth and the rule of law or they are voting to continue down the path of lies and insurrection.

"I think it's a mistake to think that she's going to fade," said one person who knows Cheney well.

    ... https://www.cnn.com/2021/05/11/politics/liz-cheney-republican-party-trump-long-game/index.html

Also worth noting here is that she has done very well fundraising. The article reports that "she has raised a personal record in quarterly campaign dollars -- $1.5 million in the first quarter of 2021 -- for her reelection." She is intelligent, articulate, and most importantly, principled. She has staying power while the cult leader who pretended -- very badly -- to be a president for four years simply does not. This may become clearer after his stupidity costs Republicans more electoral wins in 2022.

Yep. It's totally skippable since the title does say all you need to know.

I found it randomly relevant though since this seems to be what all the manly men of the GOP are doing by emasculating themselves before the Donald.

It is the perfect comparison and over the same issue from each side. She choose not when she did not vote with the party and she knew it. They told her to take a hike they would not support her. Cheney made her bed now she gets to sleep in it.

Here's one manly GOP man talking about another manly man... oh sorry... he's talking about McCarthy....

    SNIP
"Kevin's primary interest is achieveing the gavel, he will do almost anything to get the gavel and become speaker, short of throwing his mother under the bus," Mitchell told CNN on Tuesday. "Unfortunately, the drive for political power for that prestige for some people is extraordinary and I think in this case it's overwhelmed the best interests of the nation, of members of his party, and will not be long-term good for the country."

Actually, has anybody seen Mrs. McCarthy lately???

She is not in the right to be in a leadership position anymore. And if the Republicans did as you suggest what exactly would be different in their policy?

    Go look up Collin Peterson....

Al Franken is a much better comparison of a party turning on their own, for little good reason...

What if Dick Durban, after having supported Trump, voted not to remove him from office and spoke in his support after the impeachment, how long do you think he would have remained majority whip? How quickly before Murray or Stabenow would be going for his position in the leadership conference?
