From Russia, not so with love. The writer seems to have taken some umbrage over James Clapper's reference to the Russian "genetic" predisposition to interfere in the affairs of other nations. Didn't know Clapper was dumb enough to use the wrong choice of words, especially since Hitler used the same genetic excuse to war against the Soviets in WWII.

"almost genetically driven" is not the same as "genetically driven" but I suppose russians and some others have a hard time with the concept of "qualifiers".

What does "almost genetically driven" mean? If a racist hurls "almost ni***r" instead of "ni***r" at someone in public, I suppose legal Shakespearians could create a nice qualifier.

I watched the interview. He was talking about their political system. It is essentially an extension of the old KGB.

I hope you all know this is Russian propaganda. - Sputnik News! LOL!

I guess the authors were too stupid to understand his meaning.

I was expecting a point by point demolishing of the author's assertions but the replies here seem to buttress his or her points. I was curious about that Asian and Jewish preponderance part referred to in the article. Surely, it is not as lopsided as the author asserted?

So I guess it's safe to say Clapper was a xenophobe that hated Russia. He wpul d have fit in well with Clinton who had the same views.

    Clapper is a good guy.

He was the first to come out against Trump's slander of Obama about the fantasy bugging of the Trump Towers.

I think this has more to do with political opportunism than any solid conviction. Clinton sold uranium (WTF?) to Russia while Trump's family had business dealings with Russian oligarchs (which may be normal considering Trump's business is into resorts and real estate).

    Seriously?

What "almost genetically driven" means that it isn't genetically driven, but that the behavior described approaches that kind of unthinking/unconscious biological motivation.

I'm surprised that such basic understanding of the use of the english language is beyond you.

BTW - "clinton sold uranium to russia" is fake news. Just the kind you appear to lap up.

So, if someone describes blacks in America as "almost genetically driven" towards crime and self-destructiveness, that would be OK? Going by your logic, it would be a nice qualifier i.e. "behavior described approaches that kind of unthinking/unconscious biological motivation."

Are you familiar with what a metaphor is and how it is used in rhetorical communication?

Yes actually your example metaphor would be okay with me, because it is obvious the speaker is using a metaphor to describe the situation emphasizing black community's own culpabilities that contribute to disproportionate crime and drug use of that very same community.

Perhaps you should stick to bumperstickers.

In any case, as if to buttress that loaded Opinion piece:

Yes a fascinating study. from the execsum.

Course its got nuthin to do with god fearing white nationalists nor for that matter any other adamantine emotional founded partisans. I guess foreign interference in social/political messaging is the least of the worries.

HOMEGROWN TERRORISM AND WHY THE THREAT OF RIGHT-WING EXTREMISM IS RISING IN AMERICA

    http://www.newsweek.com/homegrown-terrorism-rising-threat-right-wing-extremism-619724

Beyond the terror that victimized communities are experiencing, I would argue that this trend reflects a deeper social change in American society.

The iceberg model of political extremism, initially developed by Ehud Shprinzak, an Israeli political scientist, can illuminate these dynamics.

Murders and other violent attacks perpetrated by U.S. far-right extremists compose the visible tip of an iceberg. The rest of this iceberg is under water and out of sight. It includes hundreds of attacks every year that damage property and intimidate communities, such as the recent attempted burning of an African-American family’s garage in Schodack, New York. The garage was also defaced with racist graffiti.

Bwahahaha... yeah, the murders are from far right extremists... sure. Sorry pal, but it's mostly inner city gang related crime, failures of liberal policies. Nice try though.

Still, can you explain why successive US governments, whether ******* or wingnut, continues to pander to Saudi Arabia despite that accursed nation funding jihad that gets Americans killed? This has been happening for decades. Other nations with less oil reserves than the US do not pander to the Saudis nor do their leaders say nice things about Islam just to peddle some arms.

That was the contention of the author in the thread-starting article. Is it due to genetic consanguinity? I believe Dr Bill Warner, who has taken a strong, factual stance against Islam through books and videos, was quoted in the article.
