....Mexico's president on Saturday hinted his country could tighten migration controls to defuse President Trump's threat to impose tariffs on Mexican goods, and said he expected "good results" from talks planned in Washington next week.

Trump says he will apply the tariffs on June 10 if Mexico does not halt the flow of illegal immigration, largely from Central America, across the U.S.-Mexican border.

His ultimatum hit Mexican financial assets and global stocks, but met resistance from U.S. business leaders and lawmakers worried about the impact of targeting Mexico, one of the United States' top trade partners.

    MORE FROM FOXBUSINESS.COM...
In a news conference in the Gulf of Mexico port of Veracruz, President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador said Mexico could be ready to step up measures to contain a recent surge in migration in order to reach a deal with the United States.....https://www.foxbusiness.com/politic...migration-concessions-to-defuse-us-trade-spat I hope he follows through. It would be great to have far fewer foreign hostile invaders trying to enter and occupy our country. It would also be great if the tariffs never have to happen.

I hope they resolve this and no new tariffs happen. I also hope for passage of the USMexicoCanada trade deal.

As long as the donks can filibuster passage of the USMCA it ain't gonna happen for two reasons.
    1. It's good for Trump, and the doinks hate Trump.
    2. It's good for America, and the doinks hate America.

Mexico knows we hold all the cards, so they have to play ball. As a country, we can continue without Mexico and they know it.

We can continue without Mexico?? I have no idea what you think that means but I don't think so...

On topic, of course the Prez will "hint" they "could" do stuff.... It doesn't mean they will (or should).

I'll put it even simpler for you... Trump is wrong (again)....

    Trump does have an advantage.

He can apply tariffs and his base still believes that it will not be consumers who will pay the bill.
