Michelle Obama Reads 'The Night Before Christmas' With Miss Piggy

    There is no war on Christmas because President Obama said the words, "Merry Christmas," last night during the lighting of the National Christmas tree. I'm happy that he said, "Merry Christmas," because I love Christmas and so does the First Family. The President also mentioned to remember the families who lost loved ones during the San Bernardino shootings. On the humorous side, there was some competition between Miss Piggy and Michelle Obama.

    What is your opinion about President Obama saying, "Merry Christmas," instead of "Happy Holidays?" Does this put to rest there is a war on Christmas?

    The war on Christmas is a trivial thing, but michelle might have made a PC booboo because she probably offended Muslims by knowingly being involved in a relationship with a pig.

    Opinion is this is and has been a made up issue. There is no "War on Christmas" (especially in retail stores) except at Fox News.

    But I do disagree w/you that the war on Xmas is a trivial t hing. It's not trivial. It's an American tradition that's been slowly chipped away at for yrs now by the hard-core atheists and libs......

    I'm not too worried about the war on Christmas. Sooner than later people will realize how dumb liberals and their spineless ways are and shun them. Christmas is safe.

    Would that be the American tradition of giant Christmas sales the day after Halloween, or is it the tradition of pulling out the fake tree the day after Thanksgiving?

    Conservatives become disengaged from the political process unless there's something to outrage and/or scare them with. The war on christmas is a fabrication by right wing media to fill in air time around the holidays. Nothing more.

    I wouldn't bet any $ on 'Xmas is safe'.....

    Grade school Xmas pageants had been cancelled b/c it 'offended' someone. We haven't heard Christian Xmas carols in the dept stores for how many yrs now? I'm tired of "It's a Holly, Jolly Xmas"! The majority of the dept stores now have "Happy Holidays" and employees have been instructed to not say "Marry Xmas", but 'Happy Holidays".... yeah know - they might 'offend' someone......there's been other changes, can't think of them right now. need more coffee.

    And how do you figure that people will realize how dumb the libs are? You serious? People are gullible and easily brainwashed. You're smarter than that........

    My first impulse was to point out that Miss Piggy is the light colored pig, for those who had trouble telling the two apart, but my rigid sense of self control and restraint kicked in and I decided not to make any comment at all on the subject. I'm kind of like Ghandi in regards to my overabundance of self-control.

    I get a kick out of the American tradition of honoring the birth of Christ by going violent on each other at shopping centers the day after Thanksgiving and having alcohol related Christmas parties before everyone drives home. sarc

    when I hear people say "holiday tree" I think about the menorah and wonder if anyone ever called it a "holiday candlestick holder"... why can't the anti-religion groups get over the fact people have a "christmas tree"... feel free to celebrate or not, but don't force others to take meaning or spirit away simply because they don't believe... america is the land of the free, not the home of the restricted to one way of thinking only... celebrate diversity and embrace their holidays as well... or not... its a choice...

    ya know?

    P.S. on a side note, I would love to know how many of those who are against a christmas tree in the white house, put one up in their house... or exchange gifts with others... so they commit the act but hate calling it christmas... should we just start calling it national "Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Sloth, Wrath, Envy, Pride Day"
