I want to hold a mock presidential debate. It would be run the same as the real one, with 1 presidential and vice presidential candidate for each party, plus third parties and independents. Now, each party; republicans, democrats, libertarians and other third parties need to choose candidates from among your ranks to act as your candidates. and independents just need to sign up on their own. I want to ask on3 of the mods to act as the moderator for the debate, to keep it fair. Any third party or independents must post their basic platform when signing up, so we know your basic political view.
Nevermind that I'm born in Sweden and thus disqualified from running for president, I'm in. Mr. Swedish Guy, republican congressman from Minnesota, running for president! Am I doing it right? How are you going to organise this? If you want it like the real debates you'll have some work to do.
Well, you have to have a running mate, and if anyone else wants to run as a republican, you have to figure out who is going to run for your party. I will be running under for the Exceptionalist Party. My party is dedicated to bringing back the things that once made America the greatest nation on earth, such as the emphasis on freedom of choice, and putting the needs American people before corporate profits. Once we get enough people running, we will be holding 3 Presidential and 1 vice presidential dabate with everyone who is running. The debates will be run with each candidate getting a single post to make their points on a given topic and then a chance to rebut the other candidates' points. Each of the three presidential debates would have 5 topics. For example, 1 debate would have job creation, illegal immigration, gun control, healthcare reform, and welfare reform, and then another debate would have education reform, abortion, climate change/environmental reform, drugs, and marriage rights. The same topic would not be used twice, to allow each debate to be different. I want to have one of the mods act as moderator for the debates to make sure its' fair.
