MPs to vote on smoking ban for those born after 2009

In the context of this discussion they are identical to American conservatives - they believe in small government and individual choice....except when they decide the state should intervene directly and often severely in people's lives for some ideological reason. That is what ALL conservatives are like, though they frequently try to pretend otherwise.

Over the past few decades American conservatives have increasingly tried to conflate 'conservative' and 'libertarian', rhetorically at least. It isn't remotely true, but lots of you like to role play it online.

Oh, there is a significant difference between UK & US conservatives (for now). The UK version haven't effectively handed over control to the 'white christian nationalist' fringe or Putin sympathizers (which significantly to overlap). We'll see if they keep that up.

 

and what is the punishment going to be for those violating the Law .. and how does this square the circle on Rule of Law principles "Punishment fit the crime" and Equal Justice under the law..

 

The longest people to have lived were smokers, would make more sense if some day a non-smoker took that title
