    http://www.australiantimes.co.uk/sp...oycott-singing-of-advance-australia-white.htm

He claims it is simply a white supremacy anthem, does this person actually consider he, himself showed bigotry towards others?

    http://www.australiantimes.co.uk/sp...oycott-singing-of-advance-australia-white.htm

The quicker this clown disappears into the obscurity of the general public the better. Educating and uniting? More like trying to stamp his stupidity on everybody, in an attempt not to forgotten and hear his name well after he is gone. Vanity?

Probably the biggest issue of this, is the fact that it is actually reported first by a UK news group. Is that because Australian's aren't interested in anything this person has to say?

Do you think ist racism or maybe it just could be showmanship although he has crossed the line in the sand many times and found egg on his face.

I think he's trying to promote the event so that it will be a sell out and the payperview will be huge, many may not love him but many may tune in to see his block get knocked of.

Reminds me abit of Muhamid Ali, big mouth and showmanship before the fight.

I would have considered it as such, except he attempts to justify his stupidity with
    http://www.australiantimes.co.uk/sp...oycott-singing-of-advance-australia-white.htm

Perhaps he should have considered history when making such stupid comments. He claims it does not show multiculturalism, I wonder who composed it?

I am sure a Scott was considering the White Australia policy 30 years before it was made.

Mundine has not got a clue, it is that simple. Hey maybe he would make a great Labor representative? I wonder if Gillard has sent invites to him already. Maybe she could find somebody else to stab in the back before the next election...LOL

If Mundine really is stirring up racial tension for his own gain, he`s lower than a snake`s arse.

I once heard a part Aboriginal woman say that "Advance Australia Fair" is linked to the White Australia policy but the song was first performed in 1878, few decades before the controversial policy was implemented when Australia became a self-governing colony in 1901 despite the British government's objection and Anthony Mundine may have been tricked into believing the urban myth.

Your all ears, so he's obviously got your attention. He is right though with some of his issues but doesn't portrait it the way that is comfortable for everyone. Hey, he's quite a smart operator, he gets people in everytime. His greatest detractors have made him rich by watching his fights waiting for him to get his head knocked off. He has made tens of millions of dollars due to his antics. He apparently giggles after every media interview knowing he's got you and your money hook, line and sinker.

Mundine is an idiot, but our stupid anthem needs to be changed. Its boring, outdated, and I refuse to sing it for that reason. Its the biggest load of garbage ever.

Oh, so he is not some duped idiot. He is smart and only claiming racism as a tool to promote himself, talk about lower than low.
LOL... let us see how he goes in a few years when he is broke.

No, he is fighting for the cause of his people, there isn't anything wrong with that. It doesn't worry me that he raises racism as an issue, because I don't have anything to be guilty about, anymore anyway. I have no problem telling Aborigines that there is an issue with racism, I used to be one of them many moons ago until I challenged my thinking on many levels. You know, and I know that there is an issue with racism if we are true to ourselves, but it is simply due to ignorance, not because people just want to hate I must add.

What makes you think he'll be broke, is this your ignorance suggesting an aborigine can't manage his finances. If this is the case you are a sad piece of superficiality....truly sad!

When I talk about racism with Mundine, I talk about his racism. If it is not his way, they are racist. He has already shown that with other indigenous football players and fighters.
And he has the hide to claim he is trying to teach and unify, what a joke.
LOL... and there is your bigotry showing it's ugly head. It is not about his heritage, it is about the way he has gained whatever wealth he has managed to retain.

Think about it, how many sport stars do you know about who have actually retained some of the wealth gained through physical sports? Let us get even closer to the mark, How many boxers do you know of that are not broke NOW.

Then consider exactly how these sports stars make ends meet after life in the lime light. Ask yourself one question, 'Who will hire him to do anything long term or meaningful after his antics from previous years?'

.anyone who claims to be a Muslim and celebrates Christmas is a moron. He is a walking, talking headline. His words not mine. I however believe the real Anthony Mundine is not who we constantly see on the box mouthing off like a fool.

I have met the MAN on numerous occassions and he is rather different. Do I like him ? No.

He to me is a rather confused individual, fighting who he wants to be against who he wants the rest of us to think he is. He is rather generous and more intelligent than you would think, I could actually have a conversation with him. As far as his heritage is concerned, he is fierce in his belief of how and why it is. I repeat HIS belief.

In a way he highlights issues, but in his own perverse way, which sometimes hinders progress on the said issues.

Everyone needs a villain it seems, and he is happy to play it. I hate to say it but TV is right, you all sit down and watch him because you want ill for him, all the while he relieves your pockets. As I said he is smarter than you think.

If you want to hurt Anthony Mundine, the best way to do it is to ignore him, because the MAN he don't like bein' ignored. That don't pay to well.

I’m sick and tried of people making excuses for this stupid idiots constant irrational behaviour. When something doesn’t go his way, or he gets a flogging in the ring, he turns his anger against the white man, for some pathetic reason.

Time for him to stop biting the hand that feeds him, or time to withdraw the hand that feeds him permanently.

Time to initiate a media blackout on this “punch drunk” moron, and ignore the racist clown.

I do have a suspicion this might have something to do with drumming up ticket sales.

I say boycott his fights people, and don’t give him any money.

Can you imagine the public outcry, if a white sporting start like Allan Border said the same racist comment about an Aboriginal song…

If the Aboriginal community and their do-gooder bandwagon followers are going to cry racist about every comment a white person make against Aboriginals, then its time they held their own people and community to the same standards as they apply to white people.

Lets see how many Aboriginal people come out and condemn Mundines comments as being racist rhetoric.

I wonder if the media will have the guts to ask some of them, or will the question be too hard to ask the poor little petals.

THOUSANDS of words have been written about Anthony Mundine's antics before and after his title fight loss on Wednesday.
But no journalist has put it as succinctly as fight fan Nev Pires, whose posting on Mundine’s official Facebook page after the fight attracted more than 60,000 likes. It has since been deleted.

Nev’s language was a bit ripe, so here’s a slightly edited transcript.
Tell us what you think, do you agree with Nev's sentiments?

    Hey Anthony Mundine,

How you going today? Feeling alright? This morning when you’ve had a chance to recover and have a decent sleep (didn’t happen sooner, wish you’d been KO’d earlier) maybe you’ll have another think about some of your life decisions?

If you think boxing is so corrupt, maybe you should do the boxing world a favour and quit?

Because really. You come across as nothing more than a petulant child who throws tantrums whenever anything doesn’t go your way.

You want to be a role model for Aboriginal children? Well act like one. How dare you question anyone about their race or self identity. I have nothing against you being proud of your heritage. That’s admirable. But implying that Geale is somewhat lesser because YOU have dictated that he’s not an Aboriginal (who gave you that right by the way?) is reprehensible, and you know what…racist.

I also think it’s disgusting to question a man’s integrity because he married a ‘white woman’. And here I was thinking that love should transcend such things. But what would I know? Again, in my eyes, that paints you as a racist.

You had (have) so much talent as a sportsman. You could have had every Australian backing you. And you could have furthered Aboriginal rights and been the very role model you claim to be…if you just weren’t such a d--k head.

You are the one who has isolated yourself from the Australian public. You are the one who has created the ‘us versus them’ mentality. You are the one who constantly uses the race card.

We would be with you if you weren’t so against us.

What message are you teaching these kids? That nothing is ever your fault? If you don’t win, then scream like a petulant child and throw a tantrum? Grow up. You’re 37. Take some responsibility. You may be a fantastic athlete, but you’re a s--t sportsman.
I’m the first to admit that this place isn’t perfect. But it is amazing and I love it here. So really, if you think this place is as racist and corrupt as it is, go somewhere else. To me it’s a win win. You don’t want to be here, we don’t want you here. But that’s me dreaming.

Look at your opponent last night and through the buildup (sic) of this fight. He handled himself with dignity and he gave you more respect than you deserved. You attacked his heritage and his wife and even though he beat you fair and square and in spite of your immaturity, he had kind words for you.

    Learn from him.

    Daniel Geale, you’re awesome.

Garry he certainly has put it the way it is.

Daniel Geale is someone we could all look up to.

Hopefully this is the last we see of Mundine, surely his over rated boxing career is over now. Very hard to be a boxing champion when you don't have enough punch to knock anyone out.... speed can only get you so far.

    A disapointing waste of talent.

Regardless if it was political or just to pump up the fight, it does nothing for Indigenous Australians except create a greater devide.

The bloke is as thick as 2 bricks and showed disgusting sportsmanship and carried on like a whinney (*)(*)(*)(*)(*) after getting easily out pointed.

    Total moron.

Why should it create a greater divide? Are you suggesting that Aussies are superficial in their thinking too? It is always interesting to read a comment like that. I mean, I can understand one commenting that is does nothing for the cause, but don't understand a comment like creating a greater divide. So do you dislike aborigines more because of one man? This is what it is implying as far as I can ascertain! Stereotyping is what it is called!

Hardly as dramatic as all that.

There's a divide between Indigeonous Australians and mainstream Australia, taking their land, reducing their race to a pretty sad lot (mnay more could do a bit more to improve their lot IMHO), creates a bit of tension that sort of stuff.

Turning your back on the national anthem can only increase that divide.

    EG

I'm sure there is a divide between blacks and whites in the US, if Floyd Maywether (sp?) steped out for a fight and turned his back on the American anthem, do you think that would increase that divide?

Yeah, but it would only create a greater divide with those that already have predetermined ignorantly racists attitudes. In any instance, the terrible lot that these people have had over numerous centuries and intensely up until only 30 or forty years ago is justification for their tough political stance on these issues that they are still experiencing to possibly a much lesser degree though. My attitude is to acknowledge this terrible plight and reassure that I want to see their circumstances change, therefore my stance on the issue. We're not suffering as a consequence of our race, culture and colour of our skin! It's shameful how some people totally disregard circumstances in making an intelligent judgement. This isn't aimed at you, it is a general comment related to the issue at hand.

Mundine is as racist as any. Racism isn't confined to skin color.

Mundine's father was accepted and well respected by all.

His son is a loud mouth moron.

The point is, his father was valued for his fighting ability but not valued for his background. Nothing was highlighted as a consequence of his fathers career, you just have to look back at that period of time. It was the activists with the support of white folk who caused changes. It was the tough talking exposure. It's hardly "selfish" of this guy who endeavours to bring justice to his people through his fame or notoriety to raise issues in a passionate but controversial manner. His people are the ones doing it tough and have suffered through centuries of racism. He could have cruised through his sporting professions without a whisper of the injustices of his people and reaped the rewards. Broader fame would have brought him more adulation and most likely more money but he used this to highlight the issues concerning his people. It is quite "unselfish" in my opinion. I wouldn't call him racist, but I believe he opposes racism with racism to highlight the problem. Does his so called racism affect the way that you feel about Aborigines as a whole? Do you and I ostracise or rebuke our mates because of their racist attitudes, if not, we are being a little bitsy precious about Mundine aren't we? There are many passive Indigenous sportspeople and others of fame in other areas who in the past wanted to raise broader issues but were obviously pressured not to such as Freeman. Mal Meninga, Cathy Freeman and Arthur Beetson, spoke of racism being an issue but had extraordinary talent and were happy with the respect they received as individuals. They weren't necessarily happy with the lack of respect for their broader communities and obviously never had the guts that this guy has.
If you or I were lonely white fella's doing it tough on the street and he passed by, he'd be the good Samaritan from all reports, and I don't think we need to guess the type of people who would pass us by. Look, don't get me wrong, I believe there has been a huge change in our attitudes towards Aborigines and this has come about due to exposure of information. I was never taught about Aborigines at school, probably only that they were savages who would eat you if they had half the chance. I had such a negative perspective due to this misinformation or lack of it.
