'Nancy Antoinette': Trump campaign ad scorches Pelosi for showcasing freezer packed with ice cream

"President Trump’s latest campaign ad took aim at House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for showcasing her freezer packed with ice cream during the coronavirus pandemic while people suffer financially from stay-at-home orders.

“Americans are losing their jobs since the virus rocked the economy. Nancy Pelosi blocks funding for people to keep getting paychecks. But she’s got a $24K fridge full of ice cream, so she’s cool,” Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale tweeted Monday alongside the ad."


""I don't know what I would've done if ice cream were not invented," she said via video conference from her home.

After the interview, she followed up in a tweet, writing: "We all have found our ways to keep our spirits up during these trying times. Mine just happens to fill up my freezer."

Many reacted negatively to the interview, suggesting it was tone-deaf in light of many people struggling during quarantine measures.

“While Nancy Pelosi sits in her ivory tower in San Francisco, eating $13 dollar a pint ice cream out of her $24,000 fridge, she is cheering on Democrats for blocking coronavirus relief aid that has so far been distributed to 1.3 million small businesses that is about to run out,” the Republican National Committee’s rapid response director, Steve Guest, tweeted."

Tone deaf brain dead elitist gets her ass handed to her in a video that shows what is really in her heart. The secret to making it through isolation is stock your freezer up with expensive chocolate bars and ice cream. It's just that simple. It's so nice of the elitists to share their secrets so that us common folks can make it through this so much easier. Thanks Nancy. What a great role model. What a great human. We should make a national law outlawing anyone from being a President past the age of 55-60. And similar restrictions for congress. These people don't have the right to govern over others. They're past their prime(and yes, I realize this would outlaw President Trump as well, but it's the point of the matter.)

I'm not so sure that I agree with that. I kinda figure we get what we deserve. Obama was the worst president for the Democrats ever to hold the office. He was great for the Republicans. The Democrats are already trying to figure out how to dump Biden. He isn't going to be president.

It's about sensitivities. "I know you're all in a pandemic, some of you don't have food. All of us are worried about getting sick but LOOK, I got Ice Cream." It's an ivory tower, King George sort of sentiment that perfectly in a nutshell describes why she's been a complete and total disaster as House Speaker.

As Speaker, she oversaw the delay of the stimulus package, and she oversaw the impeachment 48 hours before she was to receive the transcript. She's a far worse 'leader' than Trump and the sooner we can have her replaced by another, the better.

 

Democrats block aid to Americans to advance their political agenda.

They are neo-communist 1first, and Americans last.

If they want to pass the crap they want to pass, they should write their own bill and send it through. Instead they block aid and hold America hostage. No relief unless you pass our pork.

 

So what you’re saying is... butt hurt. Trump has multiple times been insensitive with his wealth. But nothing has come of it. Now Pelosi shows off ice cream? And what? She’s showing off wealth? Come on. Be serious now.

 

I call Trump honest about his ostentatious displays of wealth, and his open support for the capitalism that afforded him wealth-building opportunities.

I call Nancy Pelosi a hypocrite for touting socialism while showcasing her horde of $12 pints of ice cream in her $20,000 refrigerator while she tells the peasants to stay unemployed, obedient and quarantined while she delays their stimulus payments.

 

Not so much wealth, but good fortune. Fortune that others don't have, and to make it worse she doesn't say words to that effect. What has she personally done from a charitable aspect? We're all in it together, right?

Trump's being out of touch doesn't forgive her being out of touch.

 

Red herring distraction/diversion/whataboutism noted. It's not that she has ice cream and twin expensive refrigerators. It's that she frames the isolation as an inconvenience and says that it's "unfortunate" that poor people don't like the isolation while she talks about how she likes her expensive ice cream "more than anything". It's like saying, "What's the problem? Just go buy expensive ice cream." It's extremely tone deaf. So please show us where Trump has touted his wealth in contrast to poor people during the pandemic.

 

Big deal.

Anybody who actually cares would have no say in voting her out.

The RW might as well be screaming at the sky if they think that any of this actually matters.

Pickings must be getting rather slim, if Nancy's Ice Cream is all that they've got to cry about.

 

Well frankly...I have no problem with Nancy having a freezer full of ice cream and I dont have a problem with her having money to spend. I dont know how she made her money.

I do have a problem with politicians that funnel campaign funds in a way that they get rich from it. That seems to be a blatant out in the open practice and I'd rather be passionate about that.

 

I don't think it matters.

The left won't react to hypocrisy even when it kicks them in the teeth.

We'd cry about Nancy delaying stimulus while she stuffs pork into barrels, but the left will just ignore all that too.

His dad gave him a small loan of a million dollars. Now you’re right displays of wealth aren’t good in times of crisis. But what does that mean? Was she displaying wealth or sharing a part of herself?

 

I totally agree but the MSM doesn't seem to be interested in that.

 

She could have made the point by showing a picture of herself and her family and giving an emotional "at times like these, we need each other." sort of speech. Or any other comfort that could be, relatable in that sense.

It's not the wealth, the amount thereof(or the lackthereof.) What she was trying to convey is what we can 'lean' to for comfort in this current tragic situation. Instead, what she ended up conveying is "Hey, I'm cool because I've got all of this **** that most of you couldn't afford anyway."

Basically, she tried to channel Mother Teresa and got King Tut instead.

 

It's shortsightedness like this that loses elections and we (Republican party) thank you. Every Republican running for office this election will try to tie their opponents to Pelosi and it will be effective.

 

So if I showed a photo of me behaving Indian food is that a sign of comfort or wealth because I can afford take out?

I see nothing rosy when I look at Nancy Pelosi touting her gourmet ice cream horde while delaying the stimulus suffering Americans need to feed themselves.

She was being incredibly clueless, as per usual.

Trump wants to get Americans back to wealth-building success and capitalism. Pelosi wants to eat her fancy ice cream while suffering Americans stay locked down and awaiting the socialist handouts Nancy will get around to doling out... eventually... once her political agenda has been pushed, and she finishes eating her gourmet goodies.

 

Dems are just so out of touch with reality and the American people.....I doubt she'll ever lose San Fran, but really...at this point the Dems in Congress at least have to remove her from the Speakership....they won't though...they are all out of touch.
