The recent attack on Russian civilians was carried out by those of the same ideology that attacked the arena in Manchester and the public transport system in London here in the UK, I won’t comment on Islamist attacks in the US as that isn’t my place to do so.

An interesting point. Pres. Putin is a very knowledgeable and rational person,
but if a person in command of a nuclear arsenal can be 100% guaranteed not to use it then
there is no point in having it.

Hence such a person, however reliable, can never make it known that they are
totally reliable.

I don't think that any Republican has even thought of that particular formula because it's so dumb.

If Russia attacks a country in the Western hemisphere we should do something, and if Russia attacks a country that has a defense treaty with the US, we should do something. Every other country the decision should be based on US national security interests...an alien concept to be sure to someone on the left, but you can google it.
