The U.S. Navy's use of a drag queen as an online ambassador in a bid to entice younger recruits has sparked a renewed debate about LGBTQ+ inclusion.

Yeoman 2nd Class Joshua Kelley, who goes by the stage name Harpy Daniels, announced on social media in November that they had been invited to become a "digital ambassador" for the Navy, and has performed drag acts for sailors.

The dispute over drag queen ambassadors is symbolic of a wider debate about drag shows and LGBTQ+ expression. Critics have previously expressed concerns over Drag Queen Story Hour, readings for children by drag performers at libraries, and have also voiced outrage over Jack Daniel's use of drag queens in marketing.

So, with Biden running the show what's next? The old joke about a turn in the barrel comes to mind. What is there to be said but this. lol
    I
    n the navy
Yes, you can sail the seven seas
    In the navy
Yes, you can put your mind at ease
    In the navy
Come on now, people, make a stand
In the navy, in the navy

Well hopefully elect a better President who will purge this sort of perversion from the government. As people keep asking, why is a man dancing around pretending to be a woman any different than a white man doing some sort of stage act in black face. Perhaps you can answer the question.

After China takes Taiwan, sees how easy it was and decides to come for you, I can pretty much guarantee you that you won't see gender fluid non binary men in heels and mascara landing on your shores. The soldiers coming at you will be highly trained and disciplined and will have zero respect for a military where a conceal weapon is considered to be a heavy purse hidden out of sight.

How many gender nuts are defending your island and could they repel an invasion even if it means it they don't have time to put on their lipstick?

Because women don’t care. I’d wager most drag show customers are women.

Why not indeed! Having strong civil defense is a good idea whether the military is strong or not, whether we ever need civil defense or not. Can't hurt!

    ;)

But thats prolly not what you meant. Catering to the confusion of the identity challenged is not a good way to weed out the emotionally fragile from the military. Emotional fragility in everyday life is not going to translate to emotional resilience under fire.

This is peculiar to me I don't know why they think that people join the Navy because there's drag queens.

I remember I tried to join the Navy back in 2003 or so. I had some sort of problem with my foot that meant I couldn't serve.

It wasn't that I was trying to join something that would let me be a drag queen. It's that I wanted to protect I wanted to be manly.

Recruitment numbers are down not because there's not enough to drag queens telling you to join the Navy but because there's not enough young men with the desire to protect and defend their Nation.

It seems to be this woke stuff tends to take that out of men. When you tell a boy or a man that masculinity is toxic chances are higher than not that he'll abandon masculinity.

Recruitment for skilled trades is down marriage and relationships between heterosexuals are down.

Masculinity survived for so long because that's what people want out of men.

I think an ad with a big muscular guy maybe like a younger version of Terry crews on the TV saying be a man join the military would be more effective than the crossdresser prancing around.

You can do drag in the Navy well you can do drag anywhere literally anywhere a church a school a public library the street anywhere it's not brave it's not advanced it's just the same crap

What identify challenged? Are they trans or just a drag queen? Maybe I misread if, but sounds like a he’s a drag queen, and they’re well aware they’re men as far as I know.

Are y’all going to boycott the armed forces next?

I have an idea — get gun manufacturers to have drag queens do a social media campaign. I could see mass groups melting down their guns in protest!

I remember when conservatives didn’t want blacks in the military, then they didn’t want women, then they didn’t want gays, now it’s people that play dress up.

If this was based on their performance then I would agree with it but just saying I don’t like <x> group isn’t a compelling argument.

Memes are great. Why think for ones self when it has already been done for you?

I am far from being a rightie, but if this is true, it is not good for our image. The purpose of our military is to kill people and break things.

I am Joshua Kelley, currently 2nd class petty officer in the US Navy. I identify as Non- Binary and this has been an unbelievable experience since I've joined the Navy.⚓️

From joining to 2016 and being able to share my drag experience on my off time with my fellow sailors has been a blessing. This experience has brought me so much strength, courage and ambition to continue being an advocate and representation of queer sailors! ️‍

Come follow me on this journey and see where we go next. ❤️Thank you to the Navy for giving me this opportunity! I don't speak for the Navy but simply sharing my experience in the Navy! Hooyah, and let's go Slay!

The purpose of the Australian military is to keep peace and help where needed. After the Boxing Day Tsunami do you know who were the first people on the ground in Indonesia? Australian Navy

What better way to balance the horrors of war than knowing you played a part in helping people? Yes that can bring its own stress but this is about supporting nations and people to prevent wars

Couldn't answer my question. Could you. One more try.

How is a man pretending to be a woman as entertainment any differerent than a white man protending to be a black man as part of a stage show. Consider the two examples below.

Dear lord! Don’t you think anyone trans hasn’t learnt to fight! I would rather go up against a cisgender person ANY day!

Talk about “victimhood” being part of the right wing culture in America these days

Your Mencken quote is a total non sequitur. So what exactly is your argument? Should the Navy use a white man that performs blackface shows to promote recruitement. Obviously not. So how is a man performing a drag show, wearing womans clothing, face breasts, etc. appropriate for recruitment.
