True racism is exists in every group if it is large enough. All races, rich people, poor people all religions, atheists, agnostics, all cultural ethnicities, nations, educational levels , IQ levels, and hundreds more that I haven't mentioned, every group will have raciest if large enough, no exceptions. The problem comes when accusing or judging someone of racism. As shown sometimes a truly non subjective assessment is not possible if the racism in question is 'mild' enough. Gilos, your views are generally fair. The problem is that you are kind of alone, somewhat in the center and not supported by more people. If everyone who waved the Israeli flag supported your position, backed and expressed views much more similar to yours, then criticism of Israel would become incorrect, boring or unnecessary.

With Palestine, the situation is a bit more difficult. If Palestinians stopped criticizing Israel, Israel would still be occupying Palestine while expanding illegal settlements. Under such conditions, one can't request for Palestinians to cease their criticism.

 

For many waving the Israeli flag, yes, this argument seems make much sense. Yet, for many others, the problem appears to be more many of those waving the Israeli flag. One can blame whom one may, but many Israeli flag-wavers are not known for being Muslim-friendly and thus their talk of racism seem applicable to their present situation.

 

I was addressing general racism. I do not consider the Israeli/Palestine discriminatory issues traditional racism. Or racism at all except in a very narrow abstract definition. We do not have a serious problem here at PF with rampant racism and racist comment IMO. Especially when we compare PF with other general subject forums. Really! I would say that a bigger issue is the mods doing their best to be fair to both sides when defining racism and make other infractive' judgment calls that require subjective assessment. So see everything is hunkey dorie fine! The Pal Israeli issue is not racism, and our forum has great mods that care deeply about equal treatment when doing moderator stuff. Then consider that PF has no real racism problem thanks our mods the who send real racists to the curb via a soaring administrative boot.

Many waving the Israeli flag tend to see things from a racist perspective. They need to believe that others hate so that they can justify their racism.

If one argues that "they" have a greater right to a piece of land due to religion, then they are expressing a form of racism, wrongly hating another because of their cultural differences.

 

Hopefully they are not too old to point out that the Holocaust resulted from the hatred of Semites, thus criticizing many arguments expressed today.
