    Yay! Yay! :applause:

Medicaid is a good policy. It looks like Nevada might be among the states doing something right with healthcare. I like it. :)

    did Governor veto it?

if not, bill becomes law at midnight.

Medicaid as a Public Option for people to buy into sounds like a good deal

Is it just me or have states been particularly active recently? Maybe I'm just noticing it more.

In addition to how they are going to pay for it, there is the problem of finding a doctor who accepts it.

Medicaid is the best insurance money can't buy. It's free, and it covers 100% of all costs, in practice. The CEO of Wal-mart has an inferior plan to Medicaid. I'm not sure what you could charge for 100% coverage, and still make money.

That said, they should give free healthcare to everyone in the state anyway. That might not work for all states. But, Nevada has a very low population, and a fantastic tourism industry that can easily afford this.

It's all over folks. The Nevada governor vetoed it at the last minute. :(

I would just require anyone and any medical facility with a license to practice medicine to take Medicaid patients to a certain percentage of their practices or lose their licenses in the State, and I would open up Nurse Practitioners to handle more kinds of care and bring in foreign doctors if they come from an "adequate program" and practiced in their countries for say five years with automatic licensing as primary care medical providers on a fast track IF they practice with a higher proportion .

There you go and the problem is solved.

So who pays for it? And from what I've seen Medicaid pays only a small percentage of what the actual medical provider(GP, Surgeon, etc) charges. Consequently, if everyone is on Medicaid, it would seem that the income of all medical providers would drop significantly. Y/N?
