New positive tests will drop after Thanksgiving (then will peak again)

    Please don't see a drop and assume "oh, Thanksgiving didn't cause a surge in cases so it's safe for me to travel for Christmas too."

    Remember, test centers were closed or had limited hours during the holidays, so numbers will dip.

    And remember, there is an incubation period. People who contracted Covid-19 during Thanksgiving travel and festivities, will only show up positive a week or two later, and deaths from these cases will only show up 4 to 5 weeks later.

    Please remain safe. The vaccines are coming. It would be very silly to catch this virus (which is way more dangerous than you think; it's not just the death toll, but also the long-term organ damage in 10% to 20% of survivors) so close to the vaccines.
