New York City plans to spend $1.1B to house homeless in hotels

    I think that speaks to the importance of handling this at the state level.

    I do think government should offer prison style rooms (no doors) for the homeless, to enter you must be drug free, weapon free and only allowed to stay from 9pm to 9am, then must leave

    any violence means your lose your right to stay there

    what is the alternative, charge and jail them for vagrancy? that is much more costly

    The best thing the government can do is offer tax incentives and stay out of the way. By the time the money filters through the state, there will be little left for the homeless.
