    Fake News!

Criticize all you want. That is your purpose. But when you lie like this you ruin your own integrity.

If you're implying that they had any integrity remaining that would be dead wrong.

Why does anyone give fake news outlets like CNN, MSNBC, NY Times, et al...any credibility? They have been lying to us for years.

We, the people, can see through the lies and deceit. These so-called journalists and their fake news stories will not change the outcome. How ironic that they have been accusing Trump of trying to change the outcome by being deceitful when it is they who are doing just that.

Some of us can ---- but some folks believe everything the mainstream media feeds them. Just wait ---- someone here inevitably will throw out a "Trump won't let anyone have ventilators!!!" comment in a thread somewhere, or maybe even start a whole thread about the "outrage!!!!!"

I understand that for you, Trumpsters, the catastrophic management of this pandemic forces you to blame the media, at least in part.

    But two facts remain:

    - On February 27th, Trump claimed there were only 15 cases in US and that we're down to one or two in a short period of time.

    - On February 10Th, he claimed that the virus would disappear on its own in April because of the warmer weather.

    Any comments ?

    Ah yes, the context.

For the past three and a half years, it's been turning the misinformation spread by Trump into truth...

If you can’t get what he actually says correct, how do you expect any kind of decent response?

For instance, your second claim. His exact quote is:

“A lot of people think that goes away in April with the heat.”

He doesn’t make the claim you say of “he claimed that the virus would disappear on its own in April”. It’s just not there.

The first one... you’re going to have to provide Trump saying it(like in your second vid where he didn’t actually say what you claim) and not Rachel Maddow opining.

So in my view, you haven’t posted any facts. You’ve posted a falsehood and some opinion.

This is a disgrace. The left is clearly using this as a political tool, spreading misinformation and lies that could directly lead to illness, death and panic

I see Sage already debunked your claim with quotes. My suggestion is quit listening to MSM to get your info, they always leave a little out to insure to form a biased opinion.

umm.... the WHO (world health organization) has said that the virus will abate with warmer weather, did you miss that part? As for the first quote, you should provide a citation, and the context. He may very well have been correct, given the information that our own CDC was providing to him. As for "catastrophic management".. what are the blue mayors doing that is either effective, or otherwise constitutional that is in some way having a positive effect.

Taking remarks "out of context" is never a good thing.

BUT, it is the same sort of thing that Extreme RW Blogs (like Breitbart, Gateway Pundit, Etc.) do on a Continuous Basis to spread Gross Mischaracterizations.

In am not excusing it, I am only saying "Pot meet Kettle".

Exactly what does your post have to do with the credibility of the NYT?

    “A lot of people think.”

    “I am hearing.”

    “some people are saying.”

These are qualifiers attempting to defer blame. It’s not at all leadership in any manner.

That’s fair, but making up what he says and arguing it as fact is ridiculous.

I think most of or the qualifiers and will understand it’s the person making the statements. I do.

Reminds me of the old “I have a friend who is having an issue”. It’s all understood the friend is the person telling the story.

Trump is an absolute God when it comes to making sure he makes very few actual definitive statements so that he can fall back on the qualifiers he uses if/when what he says turns out to be wrong.

And there are many times I believe he makes certain qualified statements so as to muddy certain political waters/send out dog whistles.

That said, in this particular instance, I did not see anyone say he told the Governors that he was outright denying Federal Support, but that he simply told them to find them themselves. The issue is that Trump is not very good at making overall positions clear when making certain kinds of statements. If he had said that the States will be absolutely supported Federally, but any individual attempts to also bolster their capabilities independently of the Federal Govt wouldn't be criticized or viewed negatively by the Feds, then nobody would have batted an eye at the suggestion that the Governors do what they can.

But a wordsmith, Trump is not.

It's silly to go after Trump for something so stupid like a turn of a phrase he uses in a phone call, when there are so many other avenues of legitimate criticism over the response to the Covid outbreak to choose from.

I checked with Snopes, while Trump did not explicitly state the virus was a hoax, he did falsely accuse the media/press and Democrats for creating a hoax about the virus. So Snopes gave him a mixed rating.
