(continued) The continual and relentless effort by shills on TV news, in print and right here and on other political forums by paid bloggers and message board members, to deflect, deny, and distort the truth about operation wide receiver is the promotion of a bunch of lies to excuse the administration's corruption. Well, the real deal is in the article above, and though it's not a short article, it's worth the read. .
why does the Bush did it too defense remind me more of a "he hit me first" kindergarten spat, than a logical debate among adults. by all means investigate that one also, but they seem to me to be two different animals. As pointed out, wide receiver at least made a attempt to track the guns. Fast and Furious seemed more like a operation made to ensure as many weapons as possible were shipped across with no attempts of any kind to track them
So Wide Receiver was stopped when they lost some guns, while Fast & Furious was only stopped after the Obama Administration killed a border patrol agent. Also, AG Mukasey and President Bush didn't try to cover-up Wide Receiver or commit perjury like Holder and Obama did with Fast & Furious. Keep this in mind, lefties! . One more thing to keep in mind as we go to the voting booth in 4 months!
But the dems would like to convince people that FF is Bush's fault and Obama/Holder stopped it. I saw one dem say just that - today. (not even) close, but no cigar. This scandal was an attempt "under the radar" to show reason for more gun control, but it backfired. Just watch how little liberals will participate in this thread, because it's so damming to their attempt to spin this scandal as something other than the high level corruption it is.
I knew it. The liberals won't touch this. Don't want anything like the truth messin' up the lies and spin.
Of course two wrongs don't make a right, and I would like to see some heads roll for BOTH operations. But the fact that it occurred under Bush, failed, then happened again, even bigger, under Obama just illustrates the larger problem: it doesn't matter which party is in office. "Special Agent In Charge Bill Newell” or some other (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*) will be there making the same "mistake" over and over. Of course it's worse under Obama; his is the more recent presidency, and the corruption builds on itself as they use precedents from earlier administrations to "justify" even more corruption the next time. EVERY president in recent times has been worse than the last, and the trend shows no sign of changing (just wait and see, Romney supporters). But when you've got one on a hook, like we do now, you sure don't let him go.
Liberals won't touch this. Figures; it nails this admin to the wall for being responsible for this mess.
Liberals are always saying Bush started it, and it's just like operation wide receiver. I am waiting for liberals to defend that position in light of the information I posted in the OP. No one has stepped up to do so. In fact, they're hiding from this thread by not answering the challenge.
