    "Deadly Silence
"The NRA is scheming to profit off of gun silencers at the cost of public safety...."
    https://www.usnews.com/opinion/civi...he-nras-plot-to-make-gun-silencers-ubiquitous

The NRA claims it is to protect the hearing of gun owners. They even call their proposal the "Hearing Protection Act." However, silencers have the potential to make mass shootings much more deadly. Survivors of mass shootings have often been able to escape because they were warned by the sound of gunfire. However, if a mass murderer has a silencer then potential victims might not even realize that a mass shooting is going on until it is too late. There are other ways to protect the hearing of gun owners which don't endanger innocent lives.

More BS, hyperbole and deception from gun control advocates trying to leverage Hollywood reality as propoganda for the ignorant. You nor the authors obviously know nothing about suppressors... they aren't Hollywood... and, anyone can acquire one now with a form 1a and pay the tax. If you want to break the law, they aren't difficult to make, but require a threaded barrel (for some guns). Inexpensive adapters can be acquired easily from EBay ($25-35) and many sites that will enable many auto/truck oil filters to be easily adapted for that use. They make guns less concealable. I have yet to hear of one being used in a crime.

Sound suppressors do not, in any way, even come close to rendering the muzzle report of a firearm discharge as undetectable. The only thing achieved by use of a sound suppressor, is lowering the report to the point it no longer causes irreparable harm to the ear drums. Even when a suppressor is attached, the discharge of a firearm remains as audible as a jackhammer.

Like the often repeated lie about the AR being fully auto, the Hollywood myth will be continually, and intentionally deceptively repeated by gun control advocates. Yet, many states are enacting legislation to allow their use.
I wish I had used them when younger... my hearing would be better... well, loud music may not have helped either.

Like most objections, you cannot mount a credible reason other than deception as logic for denying their use.

Lets make a deal. What are you selling? I don't know how they do it in Ireland but that's how it works here

In other words, you have no clue. First, they don't silence anything. Second, the scare hunting prey less. Third, they do less damage to hearing. What you want is the most damage to animals and people.

Also, they are not banned. Anyone can own one just like machine guns as long as you pay the $200 tax stamp which is a holdover from previous bad ideas.

Why? Because they do less damage?

I think I will stay. You want something. In politics there is nothing for free. Maybe you are new at this. You give nothing you get nothing. So its a big fat no

You still haven't provided logic on why suppressors shouldn't be deregulated, other than offer they are 'bad'. That's great debate rhetoric, eh?
