I purchased this firearm legally, and I have a valid concealed carry permit for it issued in California.

Pretty sure LaGuardia is not in California.

If Meckler did not know the local laws, then Meckler is an irresponsible fool for not researching them.

There is just something so odd about this whole situation. For example, are you an enforcer for the Tea party? If not, why do you need to carry?

As far as reciprocity New York recognizes NO ONE. For them to return the firearm to you would have been illegal as you were not legally permitted to carry a firearm in NYS to begin with.

New York: The State of New York recognizes permits to carry concealed from the following states: None. States that recognize New York firearms licenses: Idaho, Indiana, Michigan, Montana, Utah, Vermont. http://www.troopers.state.ny.us/

Why are guys addressing an issue that is not an issue in this scenario?

The man was not carrying a concealed weapon. He was declaring an unloaded weapon in his baggage which is standard TSA procedure.

He adhered to the TSA rules 100%

Are you going to tell me that TSA regulations vary state to state? Show me where!

If these people are not found guilty of criminal possession, the confiscated property must be returned.

We need a motivated attorney to decide to put together a class action lawsuit against the New York police to require the return of all wrongfully held firearms and a proper level of punitive damages.

Sorry but Federal law supersedes state laws that allow for interstate transportation of weapons. New York is at fault for not adhering to these federal laws. Yes, they are known to do so and travelers are advised to avoid NY for that reason, but that does not make it right, or even legal.

Confiscation is not going to happen according to the anti-gunners.

He should try reporting a stolen gun to the NYPD.

I would say that one trillion dollars would be appropriate, and the criminal prosecution of everyone involved in what amounts to government-sanctioned armed robbery.

They could provide permits to every person who had charges dropped. Then they could legally hand over the firearms to each one of them.

Those who take the loss of another`s rights lightly, shouldn`t expect to be supported when they lose theirs, and the day WILL come when they do.

The total number of holocaust victims is estimated to only begin at 11 million.

What hope were they given? "We are here to protect you. The fences around your neighborhood are to protect you from the Russians. We are setting up a place with plenty of jobs and schools for your children. Please get on the trains so we can relocate you to a safer place."

They were lied to by their government and they believed the lies of hope and change. They got the change.
