Obama adviser: Obama not obsessed with keeping job

WASHINGTON (AP) — Former White House press secretary Robert Gibbs says Republicans must decide whether they're going to "swear allegiance to the tea party" or work with Democrats to create jobs.

Gibbs, who now advises President Barack Obama's re-election campaign, tells NBC's "Today" show Congress should "pay attention to creating jobs again."

He also suggested that some Republicans "do not want to see this economy get better" because they know continuing misery will likely improve their election prospects.

Gibbs says Obama favors a number of moves to help businesses step up hiring. He says "the president is not focused on keeping his job, most of all. He's focused on creating jobs for the American people."

The former White House spokesman also says that Congress likely will be asked to continue payroll tax relief.

That is good to know. These people should just keep talking. They are making it so much more easier.

Yes, they are. Perhaps, the Obama supporters can explain why Obama is in Iowa instead of working in Washington.

trying to use the "tea party" as villains is not going to fly.

Maybe as they poll their Obama loyalists they may hear that it should work but even the message from the rabid media is falling on deaf ears.

Liberals are going to be in for a major shock. Good Americans have wisened up and the only poll which will matter is the one in Nov 2012.

    Obamacare- fail
    Stimulation-Fail
    Union bailouts- fail
    Wall St bailouts- fail

If he is so not obsessed why don't he not run for second term. His approval rating is low, so its quite clear that he is not being loved by american people. Either leave the cabinet and let another democrat fight for presidency or accept that you are full of (*)(*)(*)(*)!
