Obama: I reversed recession until 'bad luck' hit At a town hall meeting on his campaign-style tour of the Midwest, President Obama claimed that his economic program "reversed the recession" until recovery was frustrated by events overseas. And then, Obama said, with the economy in an increasingly precarious position, the recovery suffered another blow when Republicans pressed the White House for federal spending cuts in exchange for an increase in the national debt limit, resulting in a deal Obama called a "debacle." "We had reversed the recession, avoided a depression, gotten the economy moving again," Obama told a crowd in Decorah, Iowa. "But over the last six months we've had a run of bad luck." Obama listed three events overseas -- the Arab Spring uprisings, the tsunami in Japan, and the European debt crises -- which set the economy back. "All those things have been headwinds for our economy," Obama said. "Now, those are things that we can't completely control. The question is, how do we manage these challenging times and do the right things when it comes to those things that we can control?" "The problem," Obama continued, "is that we've got the kind of partisan brinksmanship that is willing to put party ahead of country, that is more interested in seeing their political opponents lose than seeing the country win. Nowhere was that more evident than in this recent debt ceiling debacle." Except for its updated details, much of the president's speech resembled the stump speeches he gave when campaigning for Democrats before the 2010 midterm elections. But the White House claims this trip is non-political, part of the president's officials duties to discuss economic issues with the public. For the three-day tour through Minnesota, Iowa, and Missouri, the Secret Service has rolled out two new buses, costing more than $1 million apiece, to take the president and his aides around the countryside. http://campaign2012.washingtonexami...obama-i-reversed-recession-until-bad-luck-hit Barry, your progressive policies have been toxic for the economy. You are the bad luck, and the voters are going to chuck you overboard next year. http://movieclips.com/bKrZc-master-and-commander-the-far-side-of-the-world-movie-holloms-suicide/ _
I would think this was a joke but Obama believes it. This will only further make him a laughing stock and a one term president

I strongly agree with you. Its only been 2 1/2 years and Im sick and tired of him.For the past 2 1/2 years ,its been nothing but blame others. There comes a time when a President needs to take responsibility for his failures and needs to show leadership.Obama has neither of these but make excuses. Im ready for a fresh new face in the White House next year.A President that will take charge, has experience, and show some balls ,get the hell out of the way and let capitalism and wealth florish ,and show leadership. Not this girly man.
What's even worse is that so many in America believe it too and still support him. For the life of me, I cannot figure out how anyone can support this man.
He's served his purpose for me....he's exposed the left for the frauds and liars and unrelenting ideologues they are... it's just time....I've had entirely enough of the bull(*)(*)(*)(*).
There comes a time when an adult needs to take responsibility. We've seen how the kids act when given control of the country.
The only bad luck we've run into is to have him as POTUS. All the rest is just a minor correction in comparison. Obama must not win a second term, for to do so would seal our fate forever.
It feels like 5... He's accelerated the exposure of the socialist/Marxist hard left - the progressives. That's the good thing. The bad thing is the timing. We needed a strong leader that understands and supports economics and jobs. Instead, we got dick.
It is truly a shame we don't have a real adult leader for president. From his first day in office, he has blamed everyone and anyone for his failed leadership. Time to act like a man Obama, it is time to be a leader! Whoops, I forgot, this is all we can expect from a community organizer, blame, blame, blame. Get people riled up, be divisive, keep pointing fingers at the political opposition. Yep, that is the sign of a true community organizer, and failure as president. We are (*)(*)(*)(*)ed
As compared to all the good luck other Presidents have had under their watch such as world wars, the cold war, 911, Katrina ect. If I were elected President I would expect to have to deal with bad luck looking at past history and not be surprised by the environment not being optimal all the time. Regardless, complaining about bad luck and the cards you have be dealt is counter productive.
The Lightworker is a real whiner but I can't wait until he loses the 2012 election and tells us all about his bad luck in the new book he'll now have so much time to "write"...."The Audacity of a Dope".
Don't you love how he claims success when its something good, and when its bad, its either Bush or bad luck Obama is trying to take credit for the job creation in texas.
Of course bad luck. It could not be possible that leadership without principle, values, or morals, not to mention utter incompetence and shear buffoonery did not have anything to with with our disasterous state. Oh yeah, I almost forgot, It's Bush's fault.
