Omar Calls for Halt of All Deportations During Coronavirus

She points out that many "undocumented" people are sick or otherwise immuno-compromised, who would be more likely than others to contract the virus. (Since most are poor, they tend to bunch up in tight quarters, so more likely to spread, as well.) She feels it would be wrong to send them to countries that don't have the health facilities to provide them care, and thus, since we can't determine who is more likely to catch this, we should halt ALL deportations for the protection of illegal aliens. (She doesn't specify if that includes murderers or rapists.)

So her answer is to keep them here, where they will take up valuable hospital beds that could otherwise go to Americans in need of life-saving treatment. Given that the real crisis concerns the shortage of medical equipment/facilities, is it fair to keep illegal aliens here in this country - knowing that hundreds, even thousands, of them will likely be displacing Americans in need of hospitalization? (And bear in mind, as you discuss this, that they never had a right to be here in the first place.)

Yup. That is what Omar is suggesting. (Obviously, you and I agree on this issue.)

 

Trump already said they're not going to be deported if seeking treatment. But, for those who're contained in detenion centers or incarcerated; they should be at the bottom of the priority list. Keep them right where they are, give them the most basic care. If at some point we have corona tests to spare, start testing, adios if negative.

 

All I got to say is not a single citizen should wait to get treatment over a ****ing illegal. If a ventilator is being used on someone who should never been here in the first place it’s a total farce. In times of need no illegal should get care before those who belong here.

 

Sorry! but the United States Heathcare system, can't be the Worlds Heathcare system. If this Virus does turn into an absolute nightmare and our Emergency Rooms are jammed up with a bunch of sick Illegal Aliens that NEVER! Paid into the System and they are put on a Ventilator instead of an Elderly American Citizen that has paid their entire lives into a Healthcare system they were assured would be there to help them if they have an Emergency, that will truly be a travesty. This is why turning a Blind Eye to Illegal Immigration is going to be a BIGGER! problem they they could ever imagine. I'd like to see the look on some of these Liberals who support Open Borders, Illegal immigration and Sanctuary cities, when one of their Elderly Relatives, because of age or Children with a Pre-existing Medical condition that makes their chance of surviving Coronavirus is denied a respirator, because too many illegals Aliens are using them now. 12 MILLION Illegals with a large percentage of them getting Coronavirus is going to use up a lot of Respirators and medical care that could have been used to save the lives of people that actually paid Healthcare premiums to provide those devices and services.
