2. Regardless of science and studies that include controls and specific repeated procedures, the REALITY, RESULTS and CRIMES INVOLVED re what is being done with surgical masks in the general population is easy to understand applying nothing other than common sense.

So please join me in the following thought experiment:

1. Stand up from your chair.
2. Remove your pants, dress, skirt or kilt... provided you were wearing any.
3. Remove any underwear.
4. Take the underwear, wad it up and cram it into your mouth.
5. Pinch your nostrils closed and breathe through the underwear in your mouth for ten minutes or so.
6. Most importantly, repeat this experiment by approaching three strangers on the street willing to give you the underwear they are wearing (insert criminal disclaimer here), then cram it in your mouth, pinch your nose, and breathe through -that- underwear for ten minutes.

Lockdowns are necessary because people refuse to follow the other guidelines. And there will always be ignorant idiots who refuse in any situation. Even in a lockdown situation.

It's people who refuse to follow guidelines that make the situation worse. Both on the medical side, and the financial side. But when it's an asterisk President* who, for over a year, refused to follow guidelines, made them a political issue and decided to deny science, the result will be over half a million Americans dead. And very likely much more than that

 

Well it's quite clear you are not a geneticist or doctor.. Since when has there been an immunity/cure to a virus? Vaccination do one thing and CURE and IMMUNITY aint it partner That's WHY people get a SEASONAL FLU SHOT!

There are 100's of studies that prove that surviving a viral infect does indeed lessen the severity of reinfection, just as being inoculated does..

Please don't start spreading pseudoscience this early in the vaccination process. Me, or you getting the shot does not stop the pandemic. Nor does it re-open businesses, it doesn't fix the economy and does not get the unemployed re-hired. That requires much more than me or you getting the shot. This is the oversimplification, mostly by the right, that has put this country in the position of having had the worst response in the world to Covid.

Lockdowns have been shown to have little if any effect; at least against the virus. But, they have great deleterious effect on the economy and people, and super helpful effect on authoritarian government.

 

"Leftist"? There have been Republicans, even some who have supported Trump, saying that Trump politicized the response to the Pandemic!

But, of course, in a binary universe, you either agree with Trump. Defend every single act and word uttered by Him, and deny anything that might be criticism,... Or you're a leftist.

That is an opinion because you can't compare it to the lack of lockdowns. My opinion, at least is based on the rise of cases throughout 2020. I don't see the slowing you see.
