What a man! Picking on an old woman. It is better to ignore the situation and take your poor little hurt feelings home.
I never said a word about "menacing behavior"... where did THAT come from? I would expect that its from YOUR WORLD where rude busybodies are obviously the norm.
Our power grid is fine. I escaped California and moved here to freedom-loving Texas five years ago. We have never had a day without power.
Nasty old women have no more right to be obnoxious and obtuse than anyone else. And I'm old enough to say that. Although , in my experience, older folks are a lot more polite than "in your face" youngins.
I've lived in Texas for five years and never lost power... not even the "brown outs" that were constant in the California I left.
YOU said: "I would have unloaded on her in my best Drill Sergeant manner and left her in tears." Sounds pretty menacing to me. You also said: "Criticizing someone for doing something totally legal who is carrying a gun is just stupid and crazy." Sounds like you think people should be intimidated into silence from the outset.
You don't know the history of this woman or any other stranger. She has been in pain for years from her last birth. That is enough to make anyone a little irritable. It is better to ignore the situation and let it pass. But with all the hate these days in politics it figures.
Aww... da big bad Soldier scares you? Don't cry. Another problem with kids today... they know nothing about the military except what left wing propagandists tell them. Intimidation is a bad thing... you know... like being cut from Facebook or Twitter because you don't toe the liberal line. I'm with you on that.
Sounds like she needs a therapist to unload on. A stranger in a store shouldn't be viewed as her therapist. Everyone has problems. Dumping on strangers about it is hardly appropriate.
Well Hoss, read this: Texas is the #1 state with the most power outages in the last year | Stacker 2021 Texas power crisis - Wikipedia What a Texas winter storm means for the power grid | The Texas Tribune
They were listening to a private conversation and decided to bully an old woman and her daughter instead of just going about their business.
It certainly seems that way. Isn’t it amazing Montegriffo that we do not see the same thing in the UK or Australia We don’t feel the NEED for “open carry”
I can read that Thursday follows Saturday but when I go to work I find it isn't so. You can read about Texas power outages but I live here and have never experienced any such thing. My eyes or your books. I'll trust my eyes.
Old women are tough old birds. As an old man, I'll swear to that. But I am a firm believer in "mind your own business and I'll mind mine".
You don't have any option. You were never given a choice. Do you feel that if the option were available that some of the citizens of those countries would openly carry?
There is no excuse for being a bully. When I was in the army they expected us to act like gentlemen in public. Even to the point of the man sitting in the seat towards the aisle when with a female.
Arguing about "the right to bear arms shall not be infringed" is like arguing about the right to vote... its the law. "Nuff Said!"
We agree... being a gentleman is of the utmost import. A bully never wins and just shows the failure of his upbringing.
How I might or might not react is irrelevant. At issue is the principle of intimidating people into silence. If you want to discuss Facebook and Twitter bans, etc., start another thread.
Difference is that when we had our horrendous mass shootings in the past we did something about it. Americans just shrug their shoulders and offer ''thoughts and prayers'' on their way to the gun store to buy more weapons and ammo. I'll never understand it.
I guess the 246 people who died as a result might disagree with you or at least their surviving family members might.
