Over 25K sign petition to allow guns at Republican National Convention

Guns everywhere make everyone safer everywhere all the time. Always always have your gun locked and loaded; in the bathroom, at dinner while saying grace, at childbirth, at Starbucks, in your Biology 102 lab class, at church. You just never know.

The safest thing is to put a gun in every person's belt at all times so that the law becomes the property of the moment and the circumstance.

It was not clear whether the person posting the petition was backing the proposal or attempting to put the party, which strongly backs gun rights, in an awkward position.

Among the petition's five goals, it calls upon Ohio Gov. John Kasich, a candidate for the GOP presidential nomination, to mount a "concerted effort to use his executive authority to override the "gun-free zone" loophole being exploited by the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio."

The name of the group purportedly behind the effort — Americans for Responsible Open Carry — does not appear anywhere else online and accepts online message only from networked supporters, the Akron Beacon Journal reported.

In 2012, firearms were banned by the Secret Service at the Republican convention in Tampa.

I think it's a FANTASTIC idea .. especially if it turns out to be a brokered convention.

 

I just made a minor, political left turn, but I still believe in conceal carry, and even in open carry; because it really is true that when guns are outlawed only outlaws will have guns. I would bet a lot of money that when, and if, gun owners are forced to give up their guns there will be a lot more home invasions, robberies, rapes, car thefts, etc.
Most of the crimes committed by guns are committed with illegal guns. Prove that you have confiscated their guns, and I might let you have mine.

 

Do you think that ODL.Trumpf would want a bunch of people who may not be friendly to him especially if there is a floor fight for the nomination to be exercising their God given rights under the Constitution of the United States to be armed ?

That being said, I think the majority of Republicans will be ok with the Secret Service, FBI and all the other law enforcement doing their job. I have to up the probability that some yahoo will go out their to sneak one in. If that happens, the convention platform will get even more interesting.

You may want to save your curiosity for the violence that's sure to happen outside the arena as opposed to what goes on inside.
