Well, looks as if this state will push the envelope as far as they possibly can. Reminds me of a kid that will do something just to irritate someone just because they can even though they know it’s wrong. But hey… the mandate will be written and they will have to stop practicing this unconstitutional BS so in the end the pro 2nd people will have the last laugh.

gun control and abortion banning are mirror images of each other-the main difference being that gun rights are clearly a constitutional issue and I think more of the actual leaders of the anti abortion movement (which I oppose) actually believe the reasons they give for wanting to ban abortion-ie to save innocent life rather than to punish people whose culture/politics/lifestyles are counter to their own

 

They are mirror images, in that they are both constitutional rights being abrogated by Karens of various stripes.
I would agree that more on the anti abortion side actually believe in their stated aim, but I would tend to disagree that there is not a motive to punish those of different lifestyles, politics, or differing morality.
There is a strong motive to punish from every firm believer in anti abortion I've seen, you just have to get them wound up enough for them to willingly take the mask off.
I say 'firm believer' in the sense of someone driven by religious belief. I've yet to meet one who wasn't pleased that the lash would fall.

it's the same thing, both the far left and far right - if they can't stop something legal, they add hoops to jump through like Vaginal probes, waiting periods, etc....

 

many anti gun advocates only pretend to care about reducing crime and use that facade to justify gun restrictions-restrictions that mainly are advocated as some sort of payback. Gun banners know little about guns and even less about criminology. what they do think they know is that gun rights advocates oppose their agendas-be it abortion on demand, dudes competing in girls sports, and other social issues. So these lefties use gun control as a way of punishing people they think oppose their alphabet and other leftwing social agendas. That is why we constantly see comments about abortion brought up on gun threads by anti gun activists

 

Maryland is one of the many states that elect their county Sheriff. Elected law enforcement are only answerable to their electorate. Give it an election cycle or two, and we'll see which gun laws are actually popular, and where.
