    Some examples:

    http://www.alternet.org/cop-fatally-shot-unarmed-man-forbade-family-giving-him-cpr-family-claims

So the family calls 911 about problems with their mentally ill 24 year old. He calms down, takes his medicine, and goes to sleep. An hour later the police show up (the problem is now over with), yet they break into the house against the wishes of the home owners after telling them they (the police are no longer needed). They find the sleeping mentally ill man on the couch, demand he get up, bust his head into the wall, and then shoot him. Then, to add insult to injury, the corrupt cop doesn't allow the family to render aid to their dying son. And to put the cherry on top, they threaten to arrest other family members. It's like they have to rub salt in the wounds.

Any lawyers here up on California Self-Defense Law? Would the father have been within his rights to grab a weapon and use deadly force out of protection for his son? What about the unlawful entry?

Then of course is this one:

    http://thelibertarianrepublic.com/p...ront-of-him-then-arrest-him-for-recording-it/

The police didn't like being filmed, so they harass the guy and execute his dog.

All these instances of police abuse has made me seriously consider fortifying my home, that way I can tell them to get bent if they try to gain entry. Here's how I was thinking about going about the fortifying:

Firstly, doing this would pretty much be the end of sunlight in the house, but it would help. I was thinking two stacks of cinderblocks for each wall of the house, filled with sand, stuck together with mortar, then bolted-on iron sheets to top it off, leaving small slots see out of. That's for each wall and big window in the house. Then a few sheets of iron for all the doors along with iron barricades with slots in the new concrete walls to slide back and forth.

Cinder Blocks cost about $1.50 per block, 50 pound bag of sand to pour into the space in the blocks is about $4.00, a 50lb bag of mortar is about $15.00, but then of course the iron sheets are pretty expensive, about $150 per sheet. I figure I could do the whole house for anywhere between $15,000 and $30,000. Maybe a bit more from adding in a robust security camera situation to monitor the outside sufficiently. Maybe double the estimated amount to 60k by doing another row of cinderblocks outside, but with concrete poured in them instead of sand.

I probably won't fortify the house like that (though I could afford to do so).......doubt my wife would find living in a dark castle to be very fun, but all these police brutality cases just got me to thinking about how to keep the police from gaining illegal entry and making the home bulletproof from them firing upon you.

Edit to add in costs of thick black coating for the cinder blocks to help with the spiral of firepower as well as a coating of flame retardant over the whole house. Illegal entry by police = stopped in it's tracks.

Ok, so unless your spouse is ok with living in a castle, it's not happening. So I got another idea. My backyard is basically the size and a half of another lot; plenty the size for a bomb shelter. So here is another idea:

    http://www.atlassurvivalshelters.com/aboutus/nbc/corrugated/

One of these bomb shelters (one of the good ones in the 75k range), then built around the hatch a decent size almost what could be described as a cement shed, using the same ideas as earlier about holes to shoot out of, sand in the cinder blocks, black rubber smeared all over it, flame retardant all over it, and maybe steel/iron sheets bolted on as well. That way you can run to your shelter, but you can defend it by shooting out as well without being forced to stay underground. Let's see corrupt police and their illegal entrances try and get through that!

You're statistically more likely to be attacked by your wife than a police officer (even if you don't build your castle :) ).

Also, why do you keep posting links to prosecution cases rather than balanced reports or judgements? Only presenting one side of the story as if it is definitive fact is hardly honest (though to be fair, it is what you're being fed by your choice of media sources).

The police are not your friends anyone that was street living knows that, at best they are doing it for the mortgage and benefits they can be tolerable then you have the other kinds with the badge and who get off on the authority. As for building your home into a bunker they might use that to justify calling you a domestic terrorist especially if you arm up to much and say anti-police things if nothing else they will nitpick with code enforcement to fine you and get the defenses torn down.

I was mainly just blowing off steam from the crap the police have been doing. I could build the biggest, baddest fort ever......that would just cause them to kick it up to the FBI, make it a federal issue, and surround me with tanks. With the difference between now and WACO being drones. Or to put it another way, whatever a person trumps the law with, the law has a trump for their trump. You can't win. It's just soo offensive some of the s**t the police get away with doing in todays society, that contemplating how badly you could hold them off in a fit of rage is the only way to deal with the horrid stories.
