Do you agree with the statement? Have got a project and have a survey which I would appriciate if filled in. https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/PFVVX32
From my reply in the survey: Young people don't have lots of money, and because of that, they are often ignored in favor of older, wealthy individuals.
politicians are good at winning at elections. If we're lucky they also have an idea of how to run a country. Unless they interact with children and youths on a frequent basis (hopefully as a parent or teacher), there is very little chance that they will be at all in touch with the youth of the day. That along with the fact that young people can't vote means there is very little pandering to them. There are a few politicians smart enough to realise that today's children are tomorrow's adults, but with the growing trends of new-age liberalism in today's youth then it gives little incentive for old time conservatives to care in the first place. So there's a variety of reasons and things to consider (ie a lot of politicians realise that targeting youth-related issues is a good way to get in the papers and get the votes of concerned parents - but that doesn't mean they care about young people), but personally I would argue that no, politicians don't care about young people
Filled in your survey. Politicians like to prop children for a variety of purposes in legislating. "We need to do it for the children" is a much repeated sentiment in Congress, to invoke guilt while voting on legislation. Do they actually care about the youth that they're acting like they care about? Probably not as much as they care about being re-elected and filling their pockets through crony capitalism.
