POLL: In what order should we exterminate the Islamic Terrorists?

I have no problem with helping allies if they ask for it. But the threat actually needs to be a real threat, and Israel at risk of being overrun.

I don't consider any other middle eastern nation an ally, for a theocracy, a dictatorship is not an ally of a democratic form of gov't. Of course our own republic no longer exists, and so being an oligarchy we would have to defend other oligarchies. I would not want to defend another oligarchy, but to get rid of the one we have and return to a real deal republic.

 

Iran is not a threat to the US. They just don't like be bullied around by the US. And no decent person would want to bully another nation. Our past actions in Iran, if were done to us, would not be tolerated. But we consider ourselves entitled to bully other sovereign nations, and then get upset when they don't like the interference. The US has a history since ww2 of interfering in other nations. The Shah of Iran...who do you think helped to put him there? What if Iran helped to give us our next president? How you react? Would you dislike Iran? Would you get your hackles up? Sure you would.

If only we would follow the golden, commonsense rules of treating other nations as we want to be treated, we could end much of the problems caused by not following that commonsense rule. Yet we are entitled to treat others in the manner that we would not tolerate being treated. Hypocrisy indeed can create more problems than can ever be solved, and they are very expensive problems.

 

Iran is a clear and present danger to the USA and to Israel.

Obama, if he does not take decisive military action against Iran, will prove to be a Liberal coward.

Israel is looking forward to working with an incoming GOP in order to finish off Iran once and for all.

I don't disagree with any of that, I was noting a more efficient means to his ends - not mine.

 

Iran is not a threat to the US... and Israel is not a US state. Israel makes their own choices.. If they want to attack Iran, they should go for it..

 

Don't worry about that. We will take out the Iranian nuclear facilities. But the USA must facilitate the transition to democracy in Iran. Our lobby will ensure that the USA does its share.
