DeSantis is now underwater with 49% of voters; only 44% approve of his job performance.
The latest surge of COVID-19 might be catching up with Gov. Ron DeSantis.

A new poll from St. Pete Polls finds the Governor’s approval rating has sagged considerably, with more Floridians now saying they do not approve of the job DeSantis is doing than those who say they approve.

The poll, which was conducted Monday and Tuesday among 3,952 likely Florida voters through an automated phone polling system, also found DeSantis falling behind one Democratic rival for the 2022 gubernatorial election, trailing Democratic U.S. Rep. Charlie Crist. DeSantis has a slight lead on Democratic Florida Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried in the poll.

Not sure helping spread Covid through your state is a wise path to higher office. Losing to Crist? I guess it makes sense…having been in both parties the voters surely all know him by now lol

He seems to be counting on wooing Trump supporters for the national spotlight. He knew this was coming when he called out Biden last week.

It won't matter as the media supports the Democrat party and not one positive thing will ever be uttered about DeSantis. Too many of you are spending way too much time on Trump and DeSantis.

I disagree with his mask direction given to school districts much like I disagree with the direction given to school districts by leftist governors. Those decisions should be local so the folks have more control. We do not elect kings

We need to talk about these two as often as possible, especially Trump.

It will pay off in 2022 and 2024.

DeSantis is being attacked from the White House all the way down to this board. The attacks are to discredit him for any upcoming elections and to distract us from the infected illegals Biden is delivering to just about every state.

Don't stop there. Anything you disagree with is fake news. It's the easiest form of denial known to man. Don't say Trump never gave us anything.

That is the path he has chosen and clearly he believes he can win FL re-election by playing the populist card and disagreeing with Biden across the board. It might work, but now his approval is in low 40s, so he might be pushing it too hard.

I was just reading there were almost 24,000 new cases in FL on Friday. I can't even imagine what your hospitals look like at this point.

As a parent of school aged kids, I wouldn't be happy about him saying schools would be in trouble for mitigation efforts. I'm glad I'm not there.

He's put all his chips on one horse. He better be sure that's going to pan out for him.

Biden's approval numbers are very low and dropping.

“Poll of the week: A new Quinnipiac University poll finds that President Joe Biden's approval rating stands at 46%, while his disapproval rating sits at 43%. His approval rating in Quinnipiac's previous poll was 49%”.
CNN/MSN, Analysis by Harry Enten, CNN, 8/8/21.
    https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/poli...ht-decline-in-his-approval-ratings/ar-AAN4O16

To adjust for polling bias always add at least 10 points to DeSantis's approval numbers and subtract at least 10 points from Biden's.
    Hope that helps. ;-)

I suppose some still pretend to trust the MSM. ;-)

I think threatening to cut funds to schools is a mistake. Parents take the safety of their kids seriously and they would prefer to let schools make the call, but as of now they got DeSantis boot on their throats. Some school districts have already told him to go pound sand, so I guess they will take their chances in the courts. I dont know how much a Governor can play with taxpayer money, because typically the Congress controls the purse.

Much like it should not be a fed decision, it should not be a state decision. One size never fits all and decisions need to be localized

It's not a smart idea to mess with people's kids. I'm generally a very calm and even-tempered person. All that goes when it's protecting my children. That's non-negotiable. I've even gone head-to-head for OTHER people's kids as a child abuse advocate and even in public. There is no way somebody is going to mess with a kid with me around. Won't happen.

Even without the pandemic, it's not a good political move to alienate parents.

All funding for schools should be transferred to the control of the parents and guardians of children so they can negotiate directly with the teachers they choose to educate their children. A smart politician would call for that reform.
This would be a good time to shout it from the rooftops. The US education is an obsolete failure - an epic boondoggle.

The only way to thwart Biden's evil plans is to get vaccinated.

    No ?

Looks like its already in the courts.

Florida grapples with record Covid surge as school looms
    https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/f...d-surge-as-school-looms/ar-AAN7i0Z?li=BBnb7Kz
As the school year starts this week for some districts and later this month for others, one lawsuit represents concerned parents of students in schools across the state, attorney Charles Gallagher told NBC News.

The parents involved in the lawsuit, filed Friday, are concerned that the governor’s executive order has framed mask requirements “as a parents’ choice issue, when it's clearly a public health issue,” he said.

The families have students who are too young to get vaccinated, have medical conditions, or face other issues that put them at risk or will make them suffer if they are denied the right to a safe school environment, he said, a right guaranteed in the Florida Constitution.

Hopefully DeSantis's self inflicted wounds will spell the demise of his political ambitions.

People are being vaccinated if they choose to do so and white people are leading the way. But some folks might not want a vaccine and because of the chest pains I now have after getting Pfizered, I’d recommend that people give serious thought to getting the vaccine if they already had the virus like I did.
