We cannot attack china. For what would our MNCs do? We helped to put china where they are today, our corporations demanding to exploit the poor in china for their labor so the rich could get even richer. We handed over to them our manufacturing technology as a part of the agreement to access their dirt poor people to exploit. We enabled a communist state, made it more powerful, for our corporations are driven by greed, and we relented to that greed, our politicians.

In doing so, we took away our own ability to win another large scale conventional war, for we no longer have the manufacturing base needed to win conventional wars. We don't have the factories here to move over to producing war goods, and our workers are not trained to make stuff anymore, but to check people out in walmart who are buying goods made in china.

Make sure your grandkids can read and speak mandarin. For they will need it.

So, no need for a huge manufacturing base to win conventional wars? You do know that even some of our parts for our war machines are being made in china, right? We don't have the capacity today to make all of those things needed to keep soldiers on the ground and the technology they depend on. How much steel can we now produce to keep up with what happens in war? What about all of the necessary parts for computers? We could still produce the fossil fuels needed, but there wouldn't be much gas for citizens to drive their cars. How are our supply chains now, when compared to ww2? How easy are supply chains interrupted?

Manufacturing, the capacity, the ability to produce what is being destroyed in war, wins conventional wars. We could not use nukes, for we and china would destroy one another. So, that is off the table. How large is china military? How many men could they muster up out of 1.5 billion to our 300 odd million? Given the numbers we better damn well have the ability to out produce them, but this is getting worse and worse, that ability. For we have a service sector economy, and shooting big macs at them will just make them mad.

But you and a vast number of others don't think about the obvious things. And then you laugh when someone does. Your kind would have been useless as teats on a boar hog in ww2. But those men who ruled back then would have never allowed our manufacturing base to leave for a communist state.

Is china expanding its military? Are they spending more on their war machines than in the past? Why? Why do they want to leave us in the dust economically? I reckon they know that industrial capacity wins large conventional wars. And they want to be prepared to win the next one. Afterall, unlike America, they don't think in a quarterly fashion, but in decades.

 

Do you know why America has the strongest military in the world? We control the seas. China has one aircraft carrier. LOL!

 

Sure, but today is not the same as the future. I am just looking at trends, and we already know china has or will surpass the US economy, unless we get hit by an asteroid or something that causes havoc. And we know that America has been gutted of its manufacturing base, keeping only what is highly automated. Hell, if we had to build barracks for a military that we had to expand, we don't make the drywall of other materials, although we still produce wood. Sooner or later, if not already, even the clothes worn by soldiers will be made in china. Of course we could send them into battle naked, like William Wallace's band. LOL. Just paint em up in red white and blue.

My point is, it takes a great manufacturing base to win conventional wars. And making the MNCs come home is not something we would do, until it was too late. The US has an Achilles Heel, when it comes to large scaled conventional wars. But it will take such a war to reveal them, for no one is even thinking about it. We think large conventional wars are over, forever. LOL.. Yet to do so would be to ignore the history of humanity and our tendency to be emotional beings, even in dangerous times.

 

As long as American can dominate regattas, they can scoff at economic power.

 

A war with US,China/Russia is about as likely as Obama taking responsibility for something.

If you are a student of history, you would not be able to say that with such certainty. How long is human history. How long have we managed to go without a huge war, a war of empires? So, you place a great deal of importance on the short term, and ignore history.

True, does not mean we can build the stuff again. One thing you do forget, they may be the ones that build the stuff, slave labor always helps keep manufacturing costs down, but we are the ones that actually come up with the inventions to beginning with, not to mention without us buying their products their economy will crash overnight.

Now....if we were to attack everyone we thought might eventually pose a threat, we would be as bad as so many think we are. The United States is often accused of leading from behind, not stepping up to the plate, or "Allowing" things to happen....yet, when we lead from the front, step up, or try to prevent atrocity we are considered aggressive invaders.

There is no winning in warfare...only destruction.

We are by far their biggest market. We are, by even farther, their biggest debtor. If they attack us they lose that market and all the money we owe them.

If you go strictly by population China can beat just about any nation in the world, and quite a few of them together. They are very productive too, (though not near as much as you seem to think in comparison to the rest of the world, particularly the US.) The problem there is that nukes can pare down populations and productive capacities by several orders of magnitude in a few minutes, and, AFAIK, we are not importing our nuclear arsenal and there are no plans to.

We must NOT attack China, which is a key trading partner of Israel. Our lobbying will ensure that the USA does not attack China.

Instead, USA should attack Iran, the greatest threat to humanity. We will ensure that Iran is punished by the USA.

before 1980, America almost did not do business with china.
america was 100 times powerful than china.

chinese make less then $0.5 per day in 1980.
china was much poorer than india.

 

america is going to fall anyway.
