Praising WHITE America & our Traditions

I thought it only fitting that we all take time out to praise WHITE America since the blacks have this month of February to praise their people.

Let us not forget that our Founding Fathers were all WHITE men, and that our revered Constitution was created by all WHITE men of time-tested impeccable stature.

Let us not forget that any and almost all worthy inventions were created by WHITE men. High tech inventions of our modern world were also created by WHITE men like Steve Jobs and Bill Gates. It was almost if not an all WHITE man revolution that helped us gain our freedom from an oppressive foreign nation led by a monarch.

 

And this website continues its swirl into the cesspool...

 

I never understood why people take such pride in an accident of birth. We should be proud of what we’ve accomplished and, by extension, those of our family and friends. To somehow think we’re special because we can imagine some kind of connection to the work of others strikes me as hollow.
That applies, of course, to race, ethnicity, and religion too.

 

Um, I don't mean to throw fact into such a well thought out argument, but Steve Job's biological father's name was Abdulfattah Jandali. He was of Arab descent, not "WHITE". Steve Jobs was adopted.

Let’s not forget that the oppressive monarch and his nation were also white. And that many of the men of "impeccable stature" were also slave owners. Sorry, they were not gods or devils, they were men.

 

I find that hard to believe by looking at Mr. Jobs with that pale WHITE face that he would have dark Arab blood running through his veins. Perhaps he took a shot of WHITE pigmentation like Michael Jackson did to help whiten up his skin tone. LOL!

I didn't want to compare races. I was merely giving praise for the WHITE race.

 

You do realize that African-American's only have one month of "special consideration" while White-American's have all twelve, right?

You do also realize that aside from simply naming a month Black History month, no real privilege is handed to the African American community, no deeper consideration is ever afforded to their culture-past or present. There is simply Martin Luther King Jr, a few other more notable (according to us) Black-Americans, and a general sense of whatever.

I don't believe their should be a Black History month. We should take the time to consider the impact of all cultures in our country on our country.

Very true, Margot. Before the massive world slave trade that started around the time of Columbus, people did not hold any special distinction on race or color. Even in the extremely polarizing conflict between the Europeans and Middle-Eastern states in the Crusades, the division was ideological supporting political/economic ambitions.

 

Also true. People tend to think all sorts of things originated with us (pale-skins, lol), both past and present, but in effect, a number of the things we prize as innovations we already in place. For instance, Bill Gates did not invent an operating system, he purchased it. The Greeks did not invent thinking, they sent there students across the Meditteranean to study in Egypt, and Hippocrates was not the father of medicine, the Egyptian king Imhotep was.

We could go on, but the basic thing is that the world, nor civilization, nor innovation or science began with us. We can at least admit that much...

 

Well, I guess the top of the Rockys are pretty damn impressive but most of America is variations of green and brown, with a couple of smoky grey blobs on the coasts.

Here you go, mate. It tells a little about the origin's of Mr. Jobs, though I wouldn't hold the entire thing as truth since you can't verify it.

And Micheal Jackson changed his skin tone resulting from a skin disease or affliction that offset his natural skin tone. I'm not sure whether he had a surgery to conceal it or help alleviate it, but it wasn't to become White.

Impeccable stature? While the founders of America expressed noble ideals they were far from living up to those ideals. The slaughter of Native-Americans, the countless broken treaties that stole the Native-American lands, over 300 years of oppression of African-Americans that included over 100 years of slavery and was followed by extensive racial discrimination and oppression that continues even today where over 1/2 of all White Americans are racially prejudiced today is documented.

Not much or a foundation for praising "White" Americans.

The only way we can "praise White Americans" is if we remove all of the Racist White Americans from any act of praise. Of course when we do that then most of inventions and accomplishments of White Americans are also eliminated because most were accomplished by Racist White Americans. Henry Ford, racist. Thomas Jefferson, the author of the Declaration of Independence, was a racist believing that African-Americans were inferior to Whites. Even Abraham Lincoln was a racist. I find it hard to identify very many prominate "White Americans" that didn't reflect racial prejudice.

Name a White American that didn't express racial prejudice is a good challenge. There might be some where we can't find racial prejudice in their documented statements but even that doesn't imply that they didn't have explicit racial prejudice. It only means we can't document it.

You can also add that the Constitution was not the original idea of Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, or any of them. They, and their European counterparts (Locke, Montesquieu, etc) had overtly and consistently referred to the American Indians- more specifically the Iroquois League of Five Nations- as the model for American democracy. Europeans could hardly conceive of the social structure of a democracy- though easy for us in hindsight- since they all came from a heritage where people were dominated under rigid monarchies and class structures.
