Yesterday according to Wordometers we had 176,580 newly diagnosed Covid-19 cases (an absolute record) and 1,973 deaths (again getting close to spring peaks).

What happened 15 days ago from yesterday? The November 3rd general elections in the US, with literally millions of people standing in line and entering shared indoor spaces (the precincts) to cast their votes.

I said before, "two weeks after the elections we'll see a peak."

And we'll see another peak 2 weeks after Thanksgiving. And another one 2 weeks after Christmas.

What does the above demonstrate? That we should have done what 5 states have always done: a 100% mail-in election.

Instead, Trump tried to undermine the mail-in route at all times. We're seeing the predictable result, now. Bravo, Donnie.

PS: By the way, the Democratic Hoax didn't go away on November 4th, as Trump loyalists had predicted. Predictably. Much the opposite, it's getting worse than ever.

What do you think caused 4 of those 5 vote by mail states to have nearly identical peaks to states that voted in person? Hawaii is always an anomaly in relation to other states so not sure it counts. The four continental vote by mail states have spikes going on just like other states.

It is going to get a lot worse than this. And that's really bad because we already have a large number of States with hospitals at or beyond capacity and already shipping patients to other States, who will soon be at or beyond capacity as well.

Now comes the nightmare... In a few more weeks the heath care system will start to fail. We can expect 3000-4000 Covid deaths a day based on our success so far.

    Covid-19 is a clinical syndrome.
We did not have 176,580 newly diagnosed Covid-19 cases

Dumb, the spike began before Nov 3rd.

What you are trying to say is that masks and social distancing don’t work.

Ah, OK, I didn't know that. So maybe it wasn't the election, after all.

But it's getting worse; accelerating. Each event that involves millions of people will add more and more to the spikes. 50 million Americans are planning to travel for Thanksgiving.
And dear, I'm anything but dumb, but thanks for the personal attack.
What I'm saying is that masks and social distancing don't work? Do you have any data on whether or not all people who voted in person upheld social distancing at all times, and wore masks correctly at all times?
This said, like I've posted OVER AND OVER, cloth masks are lousy, and many wear them incorrectly, removing them several times, keeping them under the nose, etc.
I have no doubt that the proper masks, worn properly, work. Unfortunately it's not what our population does.

:) I’ve wondered for a long time why Oregon did so well with Covid for months. One day I remembered not being able to buy gas in Oregon at night because of their laws against self service gas purchases. I wondered if something that simple could be a factor....

Then I looked up the other state that has such laws because I couldn’t remember. LOL. New Jersey. So much for that theory!

I think the spikes everywhere are Covid fatigue and schools primarily.

So maybe the election wasn't a big factor but I expect Thanksgiving to be. 50 million Americans confirmed their travel plans despite the CDC advise to not travel.

I’m sure Thanksgiving will spread some virus around. My in-laws have come to visit a few times during the pandemic. My father in law has heart problems and my mother in law is a cancer survivor. My wife and I have been self quarantining for 2-3 weeks prior to their visits (which isn’t really difficult in our situation) and they have been driving straight through without stopping anywhere in route. We fill them with gas from our bulk farm tank so they can get home without stopping for gas. We had hoped they would come for Thanksgiving but they don’t think they can make the drive without stopping to use restrooms so aren’t coming.

The air travel thing is truly bizarre. An old buddy of mine flew somewhere the other day. Had pictures of all but one urinal in the men’s restroom closed off out of order so guys weren’t standing next to each other. Instead they all lined up chest to back for 30 minutes in a confined space waiting for their turn at the one functioning urinal. I’m not at all surprised the thing is out of control at this point. So much lack of common sense from public and “experts”.

I think my wife and I are going to go back into complete self quarantine till things calm down again. Not so much to avoid the virus as to avoid the ridiculousness like the airport urinal thing, hoarding, etc.

Yes. At this point I wouldn't travel anywhere.
