The laws reflect in the culture. So America's is about the gun, not the idiots in poor control of them. Other places, it's about the person.

I'm gobsmacked I'm having to explain the obvious.

 

No, it should ament the constitution, bring it up to date. The US pinched the UK's Bill of Rights way back, it's just that, it's been updated to reflect society as times change. Times have been changing in the us, but they're stuck with an outdated constitution, hence the dreadful gun stats.

Every US gun control law revolves around the person.

why are the gun stats of white Americans not very different than white Brits given white Americans are the best armed private citizens in the world, and white Brits are not trusted to own handguns or semi auto rifles by their masters

 

Brits have hand guns, the stock + barrel length has to be over a certain length.

If I posted a UK gun law video that lasts 10 mins max, would you watch it? It's just that, if Americans etc.. did watch it, I would avoid such posts as yours forever and a day.

It's as though, Americans are not interested in knowing anything outside of their borders, or they do but choose to flamebait. Which is it?

 

Brits cannot own normal handguns. I have shot several times in Somerset/Exmoor and have represented the USA as a skeet shooter over there. I had long conversations with a former SAS member who then became an armed constable after his military service. He was active during the Brixton Riots

I did not know that some of this was legal although I would have to say a pistol that yes I have a footlong barrel isn't exactly a pistol I would put that in the category of carbine.

 

Hat off to you for looking at the video, you're probably one of the very few that has done so and it is surprising what guns you can own in the UK, but, only if you have a suitable background.

I have handled and shot over 1000 different handguns. Other than some of the AR 15 rigs, I have never ever seen a handgun with a barrel over 11"

 

that still wouldn't be legal in England, and those are few and far between. I just went into three different big gun dealers in the last week-none of them had any handguns -other than a couple AR 15s that are part of the pistol brace BS that came close to 30CM long barrels

 

My 5.56" ARP is 10.5"
A friend has an ARP in .450 - 12.5"

 

let's both note that the UK essentially bans almost all handguns and the stuff they don't ban is not the sort of handgun you will find in most stores or being used in traditional pistol pursuits.

I am a life member in USPSA, NRA, USA Shooting and none of the events they sponsor use handguns with 11" barrels. Not USPA, not Steel Challenge, not NRA Bullseye or Bianchi cup. Not DCM nor the Camp Perry (McMillan Cup) national matches. Those pistols were an end around the SBR bullshit laws

 

Because firearms engineers are smarter than anti-gun liberals.
