Thanks Obama Care! Why the surprise? In France you pay dearly in taxes for National Health Care and still are looking at a 10% to 40% co-pay. It's where we are headed if we don't elect politicians to the House, Senate and White House dedicated to reversing the Democrats disastrous Health Care Bill. It's all up to you voters come next Nov 2012. I'm sure there's a ton of surprises in Obama Care, get ready the best of them is yet to come......Unless....
Can you show us all specifically all of these surprises in the bill? I will link you a PDF of the Bill if you like. I am sure a number of the posters here including myself would LOVE to see these tons of surprises your speaking of!
You'll have to wait till it's implemented to know what's really in it Wally. Better yet, if you have a link to the bill read it yourself.
You don't seem to understand that most of the rules of Obamacare haven't even been made up yet. The rules won't be debated in Congress, the rules won't be hashed out in public on C-Span where we can all see exactly what is going on.. instead a group of hired Governmen Bureaucrats will simply make whatever (*)(*)(*)(*) comes up in thier twisted little minds regardless of unintended consequences and force you to abide by it. You see.. you want us to provide you with "surprises in the bill" when the surprises haven't been made up yet! Do you honestly truly trust a Government bureaucrat to decide virtually all the major regulation you will have to suffer under without any public accountability at all? Obamacare is "rule by technocrat" rather than by The People. But then, its not like you really give a (*)(*)(*)(*) anyway, as long as tiny sliver of the population too lazy to purchase their own health insurance gets covered by your maginificent government benevolence, you don't care what it costs the rest of us! Just like the liberal in my sig! vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv Just once I wish you liberals would openly admit that you support any lie, any backhanded hidden policy, any kind of downlow skullduggery to get what you want, which is single payer and if you have to create outrageous rules that are absolutely intended to bankrupt the insurance companies on purpose, even if the American people don't want it you will do it anyway. That is the big difference between Republicans and Democrats. Republicans tell you to your face "we're going to screw you over", democrats hide it and are willing to lie, cheat and steal behind the backs of the American people to get what they want.
I have a link to the bill PP. How about this......I will post it and you can show us all the tons of surprises. Sound fair PP?
You mean you don't remember Nancy Pelosi's words - "We must pass this bill to find out what's in it".??? How quickly the libs forget.........
I'd say you have as good a chance of that happening as flying from coast to coast flapping your arms. If you want to read it, then by all means read it. I voiced an opinion, but let me help you out here anyway. Since I didn't go through all the pages of the bill, my belief or judgment rests on grounds insufficient to produce complete certainty, therefore is an opinion. However, with that being said the poor fella in my OP found a costly Obama Care surprise the hard way and had to pay.....That's a fact. I hope that clears up any confusion you may have. I'm always willing to help out a PF buddy!
A colonoscopy finds polyps as well as other anomalies... Study Finds Removing Polyps Saves Lives February 24, 2012 - Colonoscopies prevent deaths from cancer
What an idiot! This is easily prevented. He simply needs to tell the doctors to do ONLY the diagnostic procedure, and then he can go back in and do the same procedure to get the polyps removed. I just had a colonoscopy a month ago and the "warning for treatment" and the fact that it could cost more was right there in the permission you sign for the treatment. You could even simply check a box to rescind that permission for treatment. You essentially are saying if a guy had a heart attack while getting a cardiac stress test on a treadmill, it would be a "ripoff" to treat him for the heart attack. Further, you are pointing at a standard insurance company trick and blaming Obamacare for it. Obamacare gave him a CHANCE at a paid for colonoscopy! Since he had problems, the insurance company took it away. And the guy gets to find out why high deductible insurance plans SUCK! The ONLY deficiency in Obamacare was to NOT eliminate the insurance companies COMPLETELY!
Sooo... the guy is upset because a couple of possibly precancerous lesions were removed and his life was probably saved? Sounds like a good deal to me. Free if we don't find anything and $1,100 if we possibly save your life. How is this a bad deal? What's the alternative? He could have had a free virtual colonoscopy. After they found the lesions with that what would they do? I'll tell you. He would have then had a diagnostic colonoscopy. Same result except he would have had to do the bowel prep twice... oh, and the extra radiation dose. By the way do you know what a bowel prep entails? Basically it involves giving you the worst case of diarrhea you've ever had. Not sure why anyone would want to do that twice if they could avoid it. That's the problem with America. You offer someone a flat panel TV for $1,100 and they fork over the money and rave about what a great deal they got. You save someone's life for $1,100 and they (*)(*)(*)(*)(*) and moan about how much the evil doctors are making or how much the insurance company charges. This my friends is why healthcare will not be fixed any time soon. Complete lack of priorities.
I always find debates on American health care a combination of funny and confusing. I think Obama Care is a bad idea. The reason being that it takes the worst bits of the total private model and mixes it with a public system. What i dont get is it costs the economy far more to have either Obama Care or a private system than it does to have a full public system. For a country that is supposed to be the leader in world business it can at times show a woeful lack of basic economics.
Maybe maybe not. But the fact that anyone in a first world country would balk at paying $1,100 to have their life saved is ridiculous. What makes it even more ironic is data was just released THIS WEEK confirming colon cancer screening as one of the most valuable and worthwhile regimens available. Americans will spend thousands for TVs, Ipods, or gas guzzling SUVs, but when you actually ask them to cough up a modest sum for a procedure that probably just saved their lives they cry like babies. C'mon America get your priorities straight.
An evil corporation rips someone off and you blame Obama? If you guys had brains you'd realize where the blame lies.
Don't you mean thanks private insurance company for finding another way to (*)(*)(*)(*) us like they do so well? The cost per person of health care in France is about half the rate of ours and they have better health statistics almost across the board in health care categories: Deaths from cancer: USA: 321.9 deaths per 100,000 UK: 253.5 deaths per 100,000 France: 286.1 deaths per 100,000 Life expectancy: USA: 78.14 years UK: 78.85 years France: 80.87 years Death by Heart disease: UK: 122 per 100,000 people USA: 106.5 per 100,000 people France: 39.8 per 100,000 people Infant death rate: France: 3.36 deaths/1,000 live births UK: 4.93 deaths/1,000 live births USA: 6.3 deaths/1,000 live births Spending per person: USA: 4,271 UK: 1,675 France: 2,288 http://www.nationmaster.com/cat/hea-health We need to adopt a health care system more like France's.
And you need to link to a source that explains how the (*)(*)(*)(*) $1,100 to save a human life from a common killer is some kind of bad deal.
No Jeb, there is a very lot of information to sift through and a lot of Nation Masters information is 8 to 10 years old.
