A little backstory on Tarrio and what led to his 22 yr sentence.

    District of Columbia
    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
    Tuesday, March 8, 2022

'Leader of Proud Boys Indicted in Federal Court for Conspiracy and Other Offenses Related to U.S. Capitol Breach

Five Others Facing Charges in Case'

'Although Tarrio is not accused of physically taking part in the breach of the Capitol, the indictment alleges that he led the advance planning and remained in contact with other members of the Proud Boys during their breach of the Capitol. Tarrio was arrested on Jan. 4, 2021, on a warrant charging him in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia with destruction of property in the Dec. 12, 2020, burning of a Black Lives Matter banner. He was released at approximately 5 p.m. on Jan. 5, 2021. As a condition of his release, he was ordered by the Court to stay out of Washington.

The indictment alleges that Tarrio nonetheless continued to direct and encourage the Proud Boys prior to and during the events of Jan. 6, 2021, and that he claimed credit for what had happened on social media and in an encrypted chat room during and after the attack.

Tarrio was indicted on one count of each conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding and obstruction of an official proceeding, as well as two counts each of assaulting, resisting, or impeding certain officers and destruction of government property.'

    Indictment.

    DOJ Press Release:

'Jury Convicts Four Leaders of the Proud Boys of Seditious Conspiracy Related to U.S. Capitol Breach'

    snip:

'According to the evidence, the Proud Boys describe themselves as members of a “pro-Western fraternal organization for men who refuse to apologize for creating the modern world, aka Western Chauvinists.” Through at least Jan. 6, 2021, Tarrio was the national chairman of the organization. In September 2020, former President Donald J. Trump told the Proud Boys during a nationally televised debate to “stand back and stand by.” Thereafter, membership in the group increased dramatically. Proud Boys played a significant and often violent role in Washington, D.C. rallies in November and December 2020. During a rally in Washington, D.C. on Dec. 12, 2020, Tarrio set a stolen Black Lives Matter banner on fire. During that same rally, cooperating defendant Jeremy Bertino, who has also pleaded guilty to seditious conspiracy, was stabbed.

In the aftermath, Tarrio created a special chapter of the Proud Boys known as the “Ministry of Self Defense.” Beginning after Dec. 19, 2020, Tarrio and his co-defendants, all of whom were leaders or members of the Ministry of Self Defense, conspired to prevent, hinder and delay the certification of the Electoral College vote, and to oppose by force the authority of the government of the United States. On Jan. 6, 2021, the defendants directed, mobilized, and led a group of Proud Boys and other members of the crowd onto the Capitol grounds, leading to dismantling of metal barricades, destruction of property, breaching of the Capitol building, and assaults on law enforcement. During and after the attack, Tarrio and his co-defendants claimed credit for what had happened on social media and in an encrypted chat room'.

Even though they've been told time and time again some Trumpers still think not being charged with "insurrection" holds some kind of water.

Insurrection up to 10 yrs and a fine
Seditious Conspiracy up to 20 and a fine.
These convicted Proud Boys/ Oath Keepers wished they were charged instead with Insurrection.

The Proud Boys are essentially the American Blackshirts, and were the main organizers of the attack on the capitol. Jan 6th is often referred to as a riot, but in actuality it was an organized attack which results in over 1000 occurrences of assault and over 140 injured officers. It should be perfectly clear to everyone that this wasn't a non-violent offense, and it ought to be the leaders of this attack who are held accountable. I don't care about the people who followed the crowd and entered a restricted area without assaulting anyone, it's the people who organized the assault, and who committed the assault who should serve time.

On June 7, 2017, President Donald Trump nominated Kelly to serve as a United States District Judge of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia, to the seat vacated by Judge Rosemary M. Collyer, who assumed senior status on May 18, 2016.[4] A hearing on his nomination before the Senate Judiciary Committee took place on June 28, 2017.[5] On July 13, 2017, his nomination was reported out of committee by a voice vote.[6] On September 5, 2017, the United States Senate confirmed his nomination by a 94–2 vote.[7] He received his judicial commission on September 8, 2017.[1]

How many injuries did the local police department report from this assault in Atlanta?

The DC police reported over 140 injuries from the Jan 6th assault. It's good that the 61 people were indicted for the attack in Atlanta, but sentencing should be based on the severity of the crime

Bit by bit , One by one, Justice is being served. CN reported that he was upset about the sentence. Seems reality might have been hitting home. .Now that the emotional rebellious insurrection triggered by trump et al has cleared.

IF .big IF...Trump gets back into office and starts pardoning thee criminals, the message will be clear . The Law has no teeth and can be manipulated by those in power for the wrong reasons. We already know that he has no respect for the law , unless he can use it for his advantage.(and that of his criminal pals)

indeed: They ( the cult) believes and wants Trump to be treated as an exception, ignoring the fact that the law applies to everyone .
(and then they complain about a two tiered system.....)

They complain about a 2 tiered system, because that is what they want. But can't achieve it.
Now they are upset with trump appointed judges for following the actual law. Destroying their hopes of a 2 tiered system to favor their crimes.
In particular, the crimes to end democracy in the USA. MAGA = no democracy.

Hahahha. F right the f off with this bs. I’ve not a scratch of hypocrisy when I observe that the Donald attempted to overthrow the government of the United States by failing to concede the valid results of the Presidential election.

That’s because it’s rare you hear much in the way of condemnation of what they did. And when you do, it wildly downplays what they did and tried to do.

The more right wing anarchists taken of the street the closer I get to 10 on the safety for my family and country.

Far-Right Infiltrators and Agitators in George Floyd Protests:
By Mia Bloom May 30, 2020

    Right-wing extremists and accelerationists
The demographics of a largely white, young, and destructive group fit more with a
movement known as accelerationists than Black Lives Matter.
The accelerationists, if you have never heard the term, are an extreme subset of white
nationalism whose goal is to bring about chaos and destruction. The basic tenet of
accelerationism argues that since Western governments are inherently corrupt, the best
(and only) thing supremacists can do is to accelerate the end of society by sowing chaos
and aggravating political tensions. “Accelerationist ideas have been cited in mass shooters’
    manifestos
    People attending demonstrations
remarked on the fact that the demographics were wrong, in places like Oakland where the
majority of the destruction was perpetrated by young Caucasian men has inspired not just
people on social media but reporting in the mainstream media to properly question
whether this is a form of infiltration by outside extremist elements.
A report by Vice News about right-wing infiltrators in the protests notes “hardcore
‘accelerationists’ … are encouraging their neo-Nazi followers to go to the protests and carry
out acts of violence against black people.”
    https://docs.house.gov/meetings/JU/JU00/20200610/110775/HHRG-116-JU00-20200610-SD019.pdf

Who caused the violence at protests? It wasn’t antifa.
white nationalists, as counterintuitive as it might seem, have been known to attend Black Lives Matter rallies. That is what could then draw attention from antifa forces, according to Seth G. Jones, director of the transnational threats project at the Center for Strategic and International Studies.

Roughly 80 federal charges, including murder and throwing molotov cocktails at police vehicles, reveal no evidence of an antifa plot. Four people who identify with the far-right extremist “boogaloo” movement are among those facing the most serious federal charges.

“the greatest threat of lethal violence continues to emanate from lone offenders with racially or ethnically motivated violent extremist ideologies and [domestic violent extremists] with personalized ideologies,” specifically pointing to boogaloo-related groups as likely to be “instigating violence” at the protests.
