They are both a race and a hybrid of other races.
They are a race, nested within a bigger race.
This is just basic biological taxonomy.
Call them races, breeds, ancestral groups, subspecies, populations: whatever.
They are not descended from Eurasians, they have a common ancestor vis a vis Negroes.

It's essentially just a way to describe different people around the world. It is interesting in itself, but it can also help answer questions regarding demographic changes, and of course it is is used in medical diagnostics and forensics.

The inscription may have merely followed the concept. There were virtually no immigration laws earlier in last millennium.
