He was giving Putin a platform. Of course he's gonna play softball.

Would, not did. Means it didnt go the way Putin wanted. Putin wanted the same yelling match and personal attacks that a lot of folks here did. Instead it was civil. Everyone says they want civility, then complain when it happens.

Putler turns down interviews with legitimate American media and chose to interview this fawning fool and useful idiot. He fulfilled his purpose for Putler, then was pushed in the mud afterwards because that's what Putler does. He has to be top dog, and he normally doesn't waste an opportunity to humiliate an American and establish dominance, especially in the eyes of his domestic audience.

If Putler wanted a yelling match, he could easily get that. But he does not. He doesn't want any situation where he might be embarrassed and made to look weak or wrong. He always fosters an image of superiority and dominance over others. Always.

I agree with the exception of one point. Putin did not play 'everyone'. When Carlson was spotted in Russia, lefties here knew he was going to interview Putin. Then when it came out, we easily saw that it was simply a vehicle for Putin to speak to the following directly.

 

Good thing Tucker didn't ask any "hard" questions or he would be joining Navalny in Siberia til he dies of some "illness".
