And one of them funded gender research/education in Pakistan. As long as we are being all that generous......

Turns out the GOP lost both and Democrats control the Senate. Considering what happened today, Republicans are better off in the political wilderness while they eradicate Trump's influence.

Republicans could make life difficult for Biden in ways Mounk suggests, but they have to go after Biden's centrist policies. Bernie Sanders, AOC, Omar, Warren et al won't be given support to push unpopular policies.

Yes, the spending bill. Not the relief bill. Know the difference.

The US Congress on Tuesday approved USD 25 million civilian aid package for Pakistan to strengthen democracy and promote women's rights in the South Asian country.

Women's rights is a terrible thing to give money for. According to you.

The good thing about the 50-50 split, McConnel isn't going to run the agenda.

Bills should never pass along party lines. The fringes of each party should vote no, their should be yea's from each party. That's when the country was propsperous.

So the $ for Americans was a stand alone bill? I have never heard of such a bill.

Never heard of that site before now so I decided to go and take a look only to see this message on an otherwise blank page.

    http://conservativeforum.com/

Perhaps that entire conservative forum banned itself!

Do you know who said that? Yes, you're right, it was Hitler, but also Stalin, and Mao, and just about every other tyrant who ever lived. It's a general thing with people who are autocratic dictators that they're all just SOO much smarter than the rest of us.

I'm sorry, I'm just going to stop here before I get dinged. Just one little saying, if you ever look around the room and really can't figure who the dumbest guy is, you're it.

You’d almost think that those are the only insults that Conservatives know. Frequently seen on this forum.

McConnell being gone does not mean that Biden will have free rein with Progressive ideas, but that may be exactly what he (and the American people) most want right now. Biden is the very essence of moderation and it is going to be very strange to see us go from radical rightism to moderation in all things in just a month or so.

I hope so. That is the main way Progressive reforms get done. Baby steps, we make haste slowly.

The major thing is to give lots of benes to the New Blues, so they don't turn Republican again in 2022. The way to do that is to give them a solid healthcare plan and a REAL tax break for the Middle Class this time. There's bipartisan support for both those things. New Green Deal can wait until 2023 and LGBTQ stuff can go until 2024 or later. Yes, they're important but they can wait a year or so and if conservatives get back in we may NEVER see them.

And a MAJOR thing is to beat Trump in 2024, because you KNOW he'll be back.

With any luck he will be doing hard time in 2024 but his NEFARIOUS cult will support whomever picks up where he left off so yes, we MUST be vigilant and PREVENT that from happening.

I'd though that too, but then several things came up

    a. You can run for the Presidency from a jail cell. I checked.
    b. The Coup movement is a nationwide thing
    c. Right now Trump is seriously disturbed by all this. As well he should be since he doesn't seem like the jailhouse type. Meanwhile, his deplorables are going to be causing a LOT of trouble, which nobody really wants. So a deal suggests itself. We don't prosecute him and he has his people stand down and stand by, waiting for 2024. That gives both of them something to do over the next 4 years to keep them out of trouble. Meanwhile, we show the public how much more fun sanity is and hope the electorate has at least the memory we usually credit to a 6-year-old. I know that's a lot to ask but can you think of any better?

Let the biggest LOSER*-in-Chief rot in a jailcell and try to run from there anyway. He will siphon off enough votes to ensure a 2nd term for Biden/Harris which is a Win-Win as far as I am concerned.

His supporters are going to have to just learn to suck it up and deal with REALITY. If they can't that is their problem.

The electorate is becoming younger and more savvy and with the internet available to remind everyone of the scenes we are currently witnessing I can just imagine what the ads will look like in 2024...do you really want to go backwards to the chaos, confusion, criminality and Covid that epitomized the FAILURE of his time spent as a fugitive in the Oval office?

From the Dems perspective he is going to be the grifter that keeps on giving them wins in elections.
