It's a tough decision. If Carly Fiorina throughs her hat in the ring again, it would even be more difficult. A Trump/DeSantis ticket would be great.
I’m fine either way. I like both Trump and De Santis. I like that ticket idea with De Santis taking the top spot for 2028. I will support the nominee either way.
I like your idea, but I don't think DeSantis would care to first be vice-president: he is too accustomed to being in the driver's seat.
They are both Florida residents which causes a conflict in terms of the Electoral College. I'm OK with either one simply because the country needs to have the DOJ cleaned out from top to bottom which is something that Kevin McCarthy would not be able to deter.
Winning a presidential election is all about winning the independent/swing voters. In 2016 Trump won the independents by a narrow margin. In 2020 Trump lost the independents by a large margin. The Republicans would do well to leave Trump off the ticket in 2024. There are plenty of other possible candidates. DeSantis, Pence, Tim Scott, Nikki Haley all come to mind.
Easiest decision in the world. DeSantis hasn't tried to illegally overturn an election and overthrow OUR Government ... yet Why would DeSantis put a target on his back for tRaitor tRump? What tRaitor tRump did you Pence should be all the warning DeSantis needs, it damn sure would for me.
Neither. Both are God-mocking bigots and plutocratic socialists: MAKING AMERICA A THIRD-WORLD COUNTRY AGAIN.
Absolutely agree. Not entirely sure about Pence who's been tainted by being Trump's VP - I think the guy is a good man deep down. Nikki Haley is pretty good, and DeSantis - I kinda like him. Trump is the past. Leave him there. Besides as was noted elsewhere, half his support came from Hilla being his opponent. I think the only way Trump could win is if either Hilla ran again (very doubtful) or if Harris actually ran. Trump and Hilla are alike in one way - neither one of them ever realized when their shelf life expired.
Trump is getting up there in age tis true, but he still has the power, stamina and health of someone 20-30 years younger
Trump would have to move his legal residence to his New Jersey home to deal with that issue. In 2000 both Bush and Cheney were in Texas and Cheney moved back to Wyoming to address the matter.
Trump lost NJ by over 15 points in 2020, so there is no advantage for Trump being from that state. There is no constitutional requirement for the President and VP to be from different states.
Technically, they don't have to be from different states, it is just that the electors from that state can't vote for both, so same end result
If Trump does run, the GOP primaries will be interesting. January 6 will come up and it won't be the Democrats attacking.
Then the GOP could be in trouble. Trump is the only candidate that could motive Democrats and swing some Independents.
