I thought it would be interesting to analyze all of our presidents to find the worst one in history. Polls on Political Forum only allow 10 option. I finally have ten solid candidates for the list. I need to eliminate two more from the list. I have utilized the opinions and votes from Round One and Round Two.

This poll will be listed for 6 weeks in order to maximize participation.

I will gather the poll results and analyze the comments made in this thread to create the final poll which will include George W Bush and Barrack H Obama.

Who is the worst president from this list of 10 names? (Note: Bush and Obama are not listed. They will be listed in the final poll.)

    A. Andrew Jackson
    B. William Harrison
    C. Woodrow Wilson
    D. Jimmy Carter
    E. Richard Nixon
    F. Andrew Johnson
    G. John Tyler
    H. Ronald Reagan
    I. Abraham Lincoln
    J. James Buchanan

No candidate will be included in the final poll unless the candidate receives 2 or more votes. In the event of a tie for eighth place I will be removing two of these names at my discretion. This doesn't look too promising for America. Apparently the worst two presidents in US History are the last two. This is a terrible sign for things to come. Either it's true, we live in a nation of people who have poor analytical skills or we live in a nation of political hacks who spew rhetoric at the cost of honesty. None of those possibilities seem to be a very good sign for the future of America.

Who was the worst president of all time (excluding Obama and Bush)?

In terms of body count alone it is Wilson. I would put my runner-up as Carter for the Panama Canal Treaty and his abandonment of the Shah.

Your list of candidates for worst-president did not include Frankie Roosevelt, who was the absolute worst president -- even worse than Abraham Lincoln.

Lincoln destroyed states' rights and forced an über-powerful central Federal Government that was expressly NOT authorized in the Constitution.

FDR mangled the Constitution, stood up an enormous "welfare-state" that cultivated five generations of parasites, and got the U. S. embroiled in a world war by deliberately cutting off oil supplies against Japan, when we were completely at PEACE with Japan! World War II got approximately 460,000 American military personnel killed and many, many more badly wounded.

But, you did give us liberal Democrat Woodrow Wilson, so I chose him. Wilson and the hyperliberal Democrats of a hundred years ago gave life to a tyrannical, unconstitutional central bank -- the Federal Reserve System, which has completely taken over the economy of the United States and usurped all the power of the Treasury Department.

Worst for whom? Worst for the country? Worst for Americans? Worst for the world? Worst as a human being--or reasonable facsimile thereof?

As a devotee of the USSR and partner to Stalin I would put President Roosevelt as the worst for the U.S. He did long term damage to the country. As simply an evil human being, it would have to be Lyndon B. Johnson.

Yeah, Lyndon -- FDR's "star pupil". FDR gave us the Welfare State, and Johnson fleshed it out by adding Medicare and (worse) Medicaid! And, the icing on the liberal Lyndon Johnson cake was that he deliberately LIED about the events in the Gulf of Tonkin, paving the way for the whole Vietnam War disaster. It only got 60,000 American military personnel killed -- a small fraction of what Frankie Roosevelt got killed in WWII, but Johnson made the best opportunity out of Vietnam that he could have....

Where's JFK on the list ???

Lets be honest, he had way more failures than accomplishments. He was directly responsible for getting America involved in a shooting war in Southeastt Asia. He ignored his elders and only listened to his Harvard buddies he surrounded himself with. (The young and brightest :roflol:) He was probably one of the most inexperianced Presidents to ever take the oath of POTUS and the Soviet Union knew it and took advantage of it.

I would say the current administration (Obama) has vindicated Nixon as not being a crook when you look at Obama and Nixon was one of the most successful Presidents when it came to foreign affairs and in some respects even civil rights. So why is Nixon on the list ?

Why would Reagan be on the list ? A very popular President who had the highest approval rating by those serving under his command as Commander in Chief of the military than any other CnC in America's history. World leaders credited Reagan for winning the Cold War. American nationalism was reestablished when Reagan was POTUS so why is Reagan listed ? Reagan's biggest mistake was signing the Democrats amnesty into law in 1986. OK, one bad mistake but should Reagan be on the list for being duped by the left ?

The next one. America will find that the Patriot Act and establishment of DHS was the first big step in the enactment of an agenda that becomes more and more clear. Part of this agenda is to "contain" the Americans, keeping everything under control well enough to keep us from catching on, and making needed changes in the World Order.

such strange opinions coming from Brooklyn NY, where there are soo many monuments honoring the brave Union soldiers who fought and died during our Civil War.

nevermind that the largest monuments at Gettysburg, are from New York.

NYC had the largest riot against forced conscription for the aggressor invading occupying army of the north during the civil war.

your knowledge of Civil War history is 100% backwards.

    The South initiated hostilities.

The South chose to secede, in order to maintain human slavery.

    how can anyone defend this?
