(you have to scroll down past a lot of other stuff to get there, but look for the title, "Gay marriage and a bitter Brexit divorce".

Basically, they're saying that the issue split the conservative party, driving some straight into the arms of UKIP, and ultimately leading to the success of the Brexit vote.

I'm not all that up on UK politics, but maybe someone "from across the pond" can weigh in and enlighten us as to how much truth or folly is in this idea.

Seems no matter what the issue, someone, somewhere always finds a way to blame the gay folk.

    "Rule Britannia!

    Britannia rules the waves!

First we’ll get the Poles out, then the gays!"

^ Allegedly heard last night in London's Drury Lane.

    And so it begins...

I'd offer that if it is the Daily M(F)ail the chances are it has been hyped up out of all proportion, probably from some off the cuff comment made by someone after a few to many gin and tonics.

Furthermore this is just another example of an attempt to make a correlation=causation fallacy.

It also fails to mention if it is talking about grass roots conservatives or parliament members ... BTW UKIP had no LBGT details in their manifesto prior to the last election, so anyone joining them thinking they would be anti-LGBT would be in for a shock.

The only comments made about LGBT by UKIP came from Farage who said he was against forcing churches to marry Same sex couples but there would be no turn around on the existing legislation legalising SSM.
