Absolutely, he still would be fighting the same racist conservatives today.

You know, the same ones he mentioned that the Republicans were pandering to back in the 1960's?

If the Demographics were the same in 1980 as they were in 2012, Obama would have gotten crushed by Romney. Minority voters played a GIGANTIC role in his re-election.

And he didn't divide anything. Racists just had massive brain farts when a half black guy was elected, and as a defense mechanism, they call him a racist.

Funny how you are never bothered by the "self loathing white" label right wingers like to label liberal whites with.

Seems to me you are only bothered by "names" given to conservatives.

Kind of like a certain white president who went to a specific area where three civil rights workers were murdered and told an all white audience that he believed in "states rights"?

Heh, the right wing messiah was the biggest race baiting clown that ever lived, and yet right wingers to this day still suck at his teat. They are really in no position to be critical of anyone.

Exactly, you see some of the most racist posts on this forum coming from racist conservatives and you don't hear a peep out of this guy.

I have never seen a racist post on this board.

Black culture is very self destructive but no one has ever said that blacks are genetically inferior to whites.

Meaning blacks are capable of doing better if they would just get their heads out of their ass.

So for the record can you state he would not be fighting racist liberals today?

When the President gets on national TV and tries to taint a jury by stating "if he had a son he would have looked like Trayvon", he has just made a race dividing statement. Want more? We have videos?
Did you react to the MSNBC racists? What do you have to say about that?

I explained my view of the phrase Uncle Tom using substantial examples. You need to do the same or stop wasting my time.

Tried to taint a jury? Wee bit paranoid, I'd say. How is saying Trayvon would look like his son ' a race dividing statement'? You DO know your President is black, don't you? And Trayvon Martin was black?

Which side of the case do you think the President aligned himself with by making that statement? I will baby step you through it.

Gee thanks for admitting the president aligned himself with the right side of the case before a verdict was reached. I thought the court system decided guilt not the president. So much for being paranoid eh?

Its quite simple. If Black people want to be treated a certain way then they can show us how they want to be treated by treating us the same way. Its called tit for tat.

As long as Black people think they can attack us :physically and verbally , at will then I have no interest in changing my behavior.

You (black people) want us to change so it's your choice. Show us by example or shut the fack up.

whilst you are at it I suggest you use the special entry to college that they give you to study something that actually gets you a job rather than waste it on some ridiculous black studies course.

I understand what you're saying. You're an intelligent person who recognizes nuances; like the difference between racial and racist. Sometimes words become adulterated and misused to the point that people can use the same word in a conversation, yet they're having different discussions. This is one reason that definitions are important.

Some people have stretched the meaning of Uncle Tom beyond its limits but I don't often hear those references (or any mention of the phrase in day to day life for that matter). I see it mentioned online or when an occasional news story breaks. I've seen it used by people who are well-spoken, well-educated and successful. These people don't equate being an Uncle Tom with being educated or "not hood". The Congressman who sparked the discussion and Al Sharpton have both said that they used it to describe Clarence Thomas because of his policies, which they believe have an adverse affect on black people.

That's the context in which I typically hear the phrase used in this day and age, along with the servile, tow the line description which still boils down to someone who would "sell out". You made a good point regarding interracial marriage ... a lot of people consider those who object to be racist.

I don't think most people who are called Uncle Tom's are losing sleep over it, unless they are in politics and they're in danger of losing an election.

Awesome, he claims he has more to tell than you, then you tell about the experience of growing up black at the tail-end of Jim Crow, then his awesome and intelligent rebuttal is "get over it".

Yet these goobers are throwing a nerd fit over a twice elected black man like that is anything close to experiencing living as a second class citizen.
