Sen. John McCain, 80, has been diagnosed with a primary glioblastoma, a type of brain tumor, Mayo Clinic doctors directly involved in the senator's care told CNN exclusively. The doctors spoke directly to CNN Chief Medical Correspondent, Dr. Sanjay Gupta.

The senator underwent surgery to remove a blood clot on Friday at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Phoenix. Lab results from that surgery confirmed the presence of brain cancer associated with the blood clot.

    ---------------

As I opined earlier, minimally invasive craniotomy ain't minimal. Bad reporting.

I wish the man and his family well.

    Cheers

It's sad. McCain deserves praise for service to his country. But sadly he hung on way too long to power. Americans wish him well into a quiet life somewhere not in politics. Get well soon John but resign from congress.

McCain doesn't have many friends on either side of the aisle. Most GOP supporters think he's a RHINO. The leftists just took a beating over the crocodile tears they were shedding for Scalise. McCain was a maverick ... I'll leave it at that.

    Immunotherapy for brain tumors...

Immune boosting virus could be used to treat brain tumours
January 3, 2018 - A trial of a potential new brain cancer treatment has shown that a virus injected directly into the bloodstream can reach tumours deep inside the brain and switch on the body’s own defence system to attack them.
