    No, not necessarily.

    in·sur·rec·tion
    /ˌinsəˈrekSH(ə)n/

    noun
    noun: insurrection; plural noun: insurrections
a violent uprising against an authority or government.
“It was a violent insurrection for the purpose of trying to prevent a peaceful transfer of power after a legitimately certified election from one administration to the next."

Look at you, defending an insurrection out of loyalty to... what? Donald Trump? Why do you do it?

True patriots are so patriotic, that they have no interest in solving modern day issues. Got it.

People are way too hard on Biden.

As for Trump's political future, I agree that he isn't about to win another election. He is an ongoing influence in the party, but not a contender for the presidency. But his influence over so many Americans is a problem in itself.

A POTUS who tries to overturn a certified election and trying to return to office is current news.

Perhaps he knows that people seize control of countries armed with sticks and a fuzzy hat with horns all the time.

people who defend the January 6th insurrection are most likely themselves insurrectionists ..

    from the rhetoric posted here

It would be a safe bet that some posters on this board were in Washington on January 6TH

some do not admit it was an insurrection because their mission was NOT accomplished ..

the facts of January 6th are ,

military formations and techniques were used

plans were made, and weapons were found..

the people that breached the capitol had no lack of desire to fulfill their mission

their mission failed because they were incompetent and did not properly prepare themselves

an old saying goes like this

Everybody is against a crooked horse race, unless you are in on it

Everybody is against an insurrection, unless you are in on it

Or some people understand that the moment has passed them. If our government is going to be paralyzed by 1/6 for the end of time than law abiding citizens should request that we don't pay taxes.

Breaking into government buildings is not a "democratic act". It is by definition and act of violence.

nobody says the moment has not passed...

    hopefully it is behind us

    below is the issue

if a person commits a crime and is convicted of that crime

then the convict refuses to admit the actions were a crime

most likely the person will commit the crime again..

this is why people plead guilty, ,,to show the court they will not be a threat to society and understand the law was broken

the problem with thousands of insurrectionists of January is they believe they did nothing wrong

if they have that belief , answer me this

what will stop another January 6th from happening??

They also shouldn't have to pay taxes to a government that apparently will ignore the country's issues to continually relitigate what happened two years ago.

You seem a problem about a criminal investigation. Sorry but the man you continually make excuses for, needs to be help accountable.

You mean like the police stations ANTIFA broke into and torched in Seattle for example?

My decision to vote or not vote is not a public service, but if the "John Lewis voting right act" has its way, it will be treated that way. For independents, our decision to not vote is a weapon against politicians.

Shooting yourself in the foot hurts no one but yourself, but you do the passive-aggressive thing if that's what splits your banana. Just don't expect to be taken seriously while you do...

Well if a violent uprising with absolutely no plan to secure a victory is the case......we saw violent insurrections all summer and they call them peaceful protests!

Perhaps they don't like democracy anymore. They want something with a stronger stronger authoritarian flavor to it. As is the case when folks fanatically support ONE PERSON...........rather than their country. Maybe they are just tired of democracy........as it takes longer to get stuff done........than it does in an authoritarian regime.

The notion that only non-violent acts can be democratic is misinformation. Fighting the British before the US gained their independence, for example, was a democratic act.

violent revolution is only a moral act, when all means of non-violent change have been exhausted.

the MAGA terrorists on Jan. 6th didn't wait for such a time, they simply got impatient.
