Look, I don't think the guy should have said what he did - period - but he's allowed to express himself for the better or worse and the people will decide.

Just for craps and grins, I'm going to tell two stories, I don't know what point I'm trying to make, so I'll let everyone decide for themselves.

For a long time I've been telling this board that my sister is gay. She started off straight and only turned to women after a really, really, really bad relationship with a man.

Second story:

For years I worked with a guy who was openly gay and a bit flamboyant about it - not over the top flamboyant, just a bit. So one day he comes to work and announces he's engaged to a woman. When he and I were alone I asked him about what the men he was attracted to and what happened? He said that was just a phase he was going through. Also, it was pointed out to me by coworkers that his bit of flamboyancy had disappeared when compared to years prior.

That is just sick. Someone has NO idea what the meaning and significance of America is. Such gross prejudice is what is destroying the social fabric. When this kind of un educated commentary comes from a political and "influential" person...... the population remain under informed , and biased. Sadly, in some ways the nation is going backwards in some very important areas .If people cannot accept others that are different from them, it is a sign of serious weakness in a nation. The world has seen how far this kind of prejudice can go ......so it had better learn from the past.

 

I think it's more of a problem that he said Oklahoma is a religious State no it's not it's forbidden to be a religious state by the First amendment.

That would be the way to argue against this if you want anything more than agreement from people that already agreed with you

 

Nobody is arguing that being gay makes the species asexual.

If you replace both lesbians and gay men on one planet together there will probably still be a lot of children.

 

Some people are straight. Some people are bi. Some people gay. Some people bounce around until they settle on where they are fulfilled.

Some people are also asexual.

It is the PREJUDICE that is NOT NATURAL. It is a learned behavior ... and reinforced by like minded sorts. Humans should demonstrate interest , understanding and compassion for those in any minority. Humans have the potential to be better than prejudiced.
