Why the system keeps pushing on gun control is because of several reasons.
The system does not want millions of armed citizens, because they are afraid of to the teeth armed masses that start to realize 'their' government or the system is the domestic enemy number one. And because of this thought this can lead to another civil war eventually, this is one reason why the system keeps pushing on gun control (they can't win on words, only on war strategies, this is what politics really is, open and free discussion should be 'politics', but it isn't, it's all ideologically driven politics that is going on (for a century)
This is revolutionary politics, revolutionary means the system does not want a civil society / world / civilisation, because their military and weapons technology is advancing (JSF, laser guided bombs, drones, bunker busters, tasers, sound weapons, communication systems, and so on) continuesly, while millions of people only own guns. The system can't win politically (without all the changes and modifications in the system)
The political theme Gun Control is war politics, it can lead to the opposite of civilisation/freedom, that is civil war/struggle. An establishment has control over a president, politicians, and many others in politics (there are no sides in politics, all politicians submit to this establishment (most unconsiously), this establishment is using ideology, (ideology is always towards war/struggle/conflict, not towards peace, ideology wasn't invented for peace reasons, because you cannot see ideology (but from history we know it exist), while it's going on in politics, the politicians unconsiously use it, they can't see what they are doing, they are in a trance, taking part of a ritual)
So the only way to keep the peace (as Bush once said) is knowledge about how they manage to get control over the masses (via ideology and revolutionary politics)
Gun control is not enforcing civilisation even while it looks like in the first place, it does the opposite (moving towards trouble, can even lead to another civil war one day, and you can see how hard and long (since january) they push on gun control)
