Sheriff Arpaio revives birther controversy at Trump rally

Ah yes, the good ol' Trump/Arpaio birther investigation.

Ensuring folks remember, Arpaio was good enough to bring it up at an event where Trump was going to make an appearance.

I must note that this does not reflect well on the sheriff's investigative skills, as he notes his investigation is ongoing, long, long after most reasonable folks were well satisfied with being presented facts and reality in the matter, that being the president was actually born in Hawaii.

But, like Trump, Arpaio has been masterful at self promotion.

I digress. As an avowed birther, one who does reject reality, will this hurt Trump? Somehow, I doubt it. I think Trump is embraced by folks for whom fact and reality has little meaning.

But I am sure Arpaio will solve this mystery any day now.

Donald Trump's first post-debate event on Wednesday in Arizona kicked off with none other than Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, who wasted no time in bringing up the birther controversy fueled by Trump himself.

"If you recall, five months ago, I introduced Donald Trump. At that time, I said a few things, we have something in common — the birth certificate investigation, which is still going on," Arpaio told the Mesa, Arizona, audience awaiting Trump, referencing the Republican presidential candidate's push in 2011 to get President Barack Obama to release his long-form birth certificate.


The event marks six months since the Manhattan businessman and developer announced his presidential campaign, and comes as Trump has reached a new high in national polls, cracking the 40 percent support mark. "He doesn't need a warm-up. He's already hot. Of course, not around here. It's a little Chicago weather," the sheriff said, on a day where the high was expected to only reach the mid-50s.

Arpaio also played up shared concerns on illegal immigration, as well as the fact that the two share a birthday — "Flag Day, June 14."

"Nobody else had the guts to talk about [immigration]," Arpaio remarked. "Think of that. Now they all have to talk about it

One would think that the birther babies would worry about those running for POTUS who were really not born in the US like the weasel Cruz. Too bad that Piyush Jindal has dropped out because his birth village in India would have been very proud of him.

His mother snuck him into the US when he was ten weeks old and an Indian American doctor got the hospital to issue a birth certificate and then some friends of his parents who worked at city hall got a birth record created. The friends of his parents knew that some day Piyush would change his name to Bobby, run for governor and then run for POTUS. This is all well documented but the cabal of right wing conspirators do not want the American people to know the truth therefore all of the documentation of his birth in India has been vaporized. I know all of this to be true because a friend of by neighbor's cousin who lived across the street from someone who knew another guy whose aunt once dated a guy who is the best friend of Sheri Apoaio.

No one is born a Christian one is brought up a Christian or a Muslim or a Hindu. His father supposedly was a Catholic unless he became an atheist to serve his master Fidel. I thought that his mother was some sort of Christian but I do not know which variety. Are you saying that his Mom was Jewish or Muslim or a Mormon?

The second was the Clinton campaign.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio used the taxpayers' money in Arizona to fund his birther investigation. The Sheriff then suffered some repercussions from the Department of Justice for his ordered racial profiling of Hispanics in Arizona. Birds of a feather flock together, so, naturally Trump is going to be Arpaio's poster boy.

 

Hey we already let one person get in the White House who wasn't born in the country to two people who were both citizens of the country. So why should'nt we let Cruz be elected? Just because he isn't a Socialist or black?

I find it amazing that some simple minded people just can't accept facts.

Birthers are a fantastic example that bullcrap propaganda works well with the pre-disposed. In this case virulent partisans, racists and the truly simple.

 

The near total majority of illegal entries into the country were Hispanics.

Had they been Icelanders, I'm sure attention would have been directed at Icelanders.

Common sense can be a valuable tool today, providing the inquiring officers (of whom I'll bet many were Hispanic) are respectful.

 

Nope. And now that Obama no longer claims to have been born in Kenya, everyone else should drop it. His birth announcement was carried in local papers, later Obama lied about it because when you are selling books on international race relations; "born in Kenya, raised in Indonesia" just sounds a lot cooler than "born in Hawaii and raised in Indonesia".
