Should a volunteer militia be formed to protect school children?

That was the question someone posed. Another said to have teachers armed and a militia.

What say you?

I say absolutely yes!!!!!!!!!!! Im sure tens of thousands of retire police and veterans would volunteer to be trained, and go on duty for free. Who wouldnt want to protect our grandchildren from criminals and nuts.

Why? It doesn't require all being armed. Just the presence of a few obvious folks looking for and reporting via radio odd behavior would be a deterrent.

But, we knew that already, it is easy for you to volunteer someone else's time, money (and possibly life) for your political ideology.

Keep in mind, those people who volunteer would be the first to earn the scorn of the gun nuts, should they fail to stop a shooter.

 

LOL I don't think parents are going to want a bunch of strangers with guns hanging out at their kids school calling themselves a militia.

There is plenty of things senior volunteers can do for violence prevention. Schools always need monitors to prevent bullying in hallways and on playgrounds.

In any case, we all know that the above poster we are referring to is just talking, but he would never actually do the thing he advocates for. Just like he is against SS and Medicare, unless it concerns his own monthly check and COLA.
