But faith takes indoctrination. That's why they start brainwashing them as little children. But on rare occasions, some kind of life experience will make one a believer in some sort of unseen being.
Lol, why the hell would I want to be chaste? I’ve noticed that a lot from the right lately. It seems like they’ve become incredibly boring lately. When I considered myself part of the right, it was more of the hot women, lots of sex, assault rifles, heavy metal and American flags kind of right. Now it seems they all want to be chaste and just a cog in the oligarchs machine kind of right. No wonder I left the “right”. Lol. Boooooring.....
It hasn't changed. They do all that stuff. They just like to act self-righteous and judgmental of everybody else. I don't know ONE "Christian" that isn't hypocritical and holier-than-thou. It's obvious. If their lives were going well they wouldn't be worried about what's happening in other people's bedrooms.
I see this holier than thou as a sad result of those who need a Final Word on everyone's moral choices which they think is unassailable. A need to play God and feel superior. It isn't new. Priests always had acolytes to enforce The Word and in other times and cultures, report "wrongdoing". A kind of foolproof pass to oppress those who think for themselves while affirming that God loves us all if we repent...and the only ones needing forgiveness are the ones who are not like "us". This kind of "logic" through an imaginary being which they constantly recreate really is a kind of character fault centering around a need to dominate and control and to intimidate through emotional language such as "murder" . IMO they need counselling.
Standards always change. If they didn't we would still be insisting on chaperones, long skirts and duelling. Standards actually change with each generation and so far the world hasn't stopped turning.
I have standards. Treat every human I meet with the same kindness and love as if they were my own family, regardless of who or what they are without judgement, and live a life filled with love and happiness. I fail sometimes, but I strive to do better every day.
That's good. Sometimes love means telling people they are wrong. And sometimes it means changing or repenting of our own bad conduct. But it doesn't mean reducing standards to follow our descent, or to drain the ocean to prevent ones drowning. Our Forefathers established the concept of equality in freedom. But they then realized the practice of slavery was not up to the ideal. So rather than lower the ideal, they ended slavery and brought their conduct up to the ideal. Similarly one doesn't lower the standard of chastity to try to justify deviant behavior. Or rationalize the deviation by calling it an alternate lifestyle. It is a drunken slap in the face to sober intellect to do so. Our greatest love must be to the truth if we are to truly love one another. Otherwise we live a lie, and love ourselves all the way to hell. Love is not our salvation, but what we love. To love the truth will save us and make us free. It isn't hateful to distinguish good from evil, and to choose the good.
two people living eachother can never be evil. Quite the opposite. Our souls have inhabited both male and female bodies across many lifetimes. Love is between souls. The body they are in is just a vehicle. All that matters is that love is there in the relationship. Everything else is irrelevant.
So no cities were burned down. But just a building here and there. You lied with your dumb off topic ranting. Got it. conservaphobia?? You are all over the place. This is about gay rights. Your BLM is pure distraction from the fact that you and people who toss gay people from buildings think alike.
No it doesn't. That's why many people who did not have faith as a child later on in their adulthood have faith. --- William Lane Craig is a prime example. He came from a non-Christian family and was not a Christian as a child. He didn't become a Christian until his junior year of high school. He later on dedicated his life to being a Christian apologist. No "brainwashing as a child" was involved. Other children who WERE "brainwashed as a child" and were raised as a Christian are no longer Christians as adults. It's quite common, actually.
Yes it does. Unless one has a life changing experience, and it's not quite common. Probably less than1%
