Feminists will never be ok with women having to sign up for selective service ...because feminists believe only men should sacrifice life for just about anything aka "white knight syndrome "...

I would like to put that to the test and see what feminists say... before their heads explode.

It's only fair that women should have to register for the draft also. But military officials do not push for registration of women. The military is burdened by too many women anyway. Since women are like all other protected minorities in the military, commanders, in accordance with the burdens of political correctness, must treat them gingerly and are afraid of them.

Moreover, when women enter the military, they are automatically commissioned as lieutenants. And the military already has an excessive amount of officers.

Yes woman should register. Many countries require men and woman to do a number of years in the service. i see no problem with having woman now register as men do. And I have a 14 year old daughter, so i am not speaking because I am too old for the military.

Honestly..if you had the choice of hiring me..or the guy next to me for a construction job..which would you hire? Same goes for infrastructure or front lines. Its not that woman dont want to do the jobs, but when it comes down to it, men will be hired over the woman for jobs like that. And that is not a dig. I understand it and have no problem with it.

But you come off as saying that woman contribute nothing to this society. Do we hold no value in your eyes? Schoolteachers, nurses, doctors etc etc. I think they would argue that they DO "contirbute in a meaningful way"

And forgive me if I am wrong..but I do rememebr a war when men were off fighting and woman stepped up to do all those jobs that needed to be done while they were away. Factory, contructions etc.

I don't think many guys would disagree w you. Respect for anothers capabilities is a no-brainer. regardless the demographics.

But the op is about equal responsibilities, which is proving to be not on the feminist agenda, no matter what they claim.

And as far as the registering, I agree. Woman should have to register the same as men for military service. I am not a feminist. I beleive there are roles that men do better than woman and vice versa. But if they are in the same role, they should be paid the same.

This statement has no basis in fact.

As a self-identified feminist, I think what is fair is fair. Registration sounds fair; in a national emergency the country needs to know who to call on.

Thanks for almost restoring my faith in womankind.....but I think most of the sisterhood would bail....maybe feminism would get more support from men if they were only looking for mere equality.

Why do you choose to think that?

Would an undiluted ERA pass today?...or would it be another war on women.

That feminists in general are looking for "more equal" status....involuntarily losing all their rights to a draft will never happen, hence no ERA.

Please have the last word for now I'm on an intolerable tablet keyboard and must bow out.

Ok, not to have the last word as such, but you have simply stated opinions as fact, as before, and not given a reason for your choice to believe you are correct.

Ask yourself a simple question: Would you(assuming you're a girl) rather be a girl or a guy? Me, personally? I'd rather be a girl. We can talk about having women sign up for the draft, but if it was actually proposed in it's truest sense, we know for a fact that they would bail.

For all the talk about domestic abuse, what about emotional abuse?

    http://shrink4men.wordpress.com/2009/01/23/when-love-hurts-the-emotionally-abused-man/

And this abuse needn't be in a relationship. The very notion of Radical Feminism(and the abusive child courts) among other things undermines and is meant to make men feel inferior.

Sex? It's a trap! Several things may happen which aren't good. A: Best case, you get laid and nothing happens. B: You think there's a relationship, uh, not really, child's aborted, tough break, l8r chump. Or C: The infamous rape charge :D (Duke Lacrosse team anyone?) The Winston would-be case was particularly ironic as if it weren't for his friends testimony, he would've likely seen himself in a jail cell instead of playing football.

What kind of guy would be an idiot to have sex with anyone but your wife/fiancee?(sadly, your GF is just another girl. It's not a protective title for you).

What, if any reason is there for a guy to date a woman? We've been socially programmed to believe in the need for a "significant other", but if women can easily shake off the programming, so can we.(Much to their dismay if we do so) and I urge my fellow men to do so.

As a man, I believe love doesn't exist anymore(if it ever did) and we should focus only on ourselves.
